Overview

Jackson is synonymous with high-performance guitar designand the progenitor musical speed machines. Conceived as a launching platform for technically advanced guitar playing, the SLATHXMG3-6 Soloist is rife with sophisticated ergonomic design, ultra-fast playability and monstrous tone.

Dual graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the maple neck with speed profile to fortify it against the extremes of nature, buttressing it against warping. A speedy 12-16 compound radius fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out.

A pair of EMG active humbucking pickups, an 85 neck pickup and 81 bridge pickup, generate versatile, huge and high output tones for brutal distortion and clear, crisp cleans. The Hardtail 6 strings-thru-body bridge produces massive sustain with enhanced note attack, and when combined with the Jackson-branded tuning machines, rock-solid tuning stability along with precise intonation.

Classic Jackson appointments include the instantly recognizable piranha inlays, stable Dunlop dual-locking strap buttons, black hardware, single-ply neck binding and the Soloists ergonomically arched top for playing blazing licks with comfort. Sleek, refined, and dangerous, the SLATHXMG3-6 Soloist is art brought to life, tempered with high-tech performance for the ultimate metal machine.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

The fretboard design makes it very hard to accidently to fret off in the higher octaves on the E string. I have several Fenders, and this guitar is excellent. I have over 40 years experience and I know what I'm talking about.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

I would have to say..... this is my favorite guitar I have ever owned, i traded my Matt Heafy Signature Les Paul for this, and I have to say, i have no regrets, this thing is a pure beast, I would recommend to anyone. I played this at my local Guitar Center for hours and hours and then knew that this was the next guitar I was buying, i just had to have it, so i decided to trade my Les Paul, which I'm very glad i did.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

This is honestly the most comfortable guitar I have ever picked up. You have to play it to believe it. Ive owned multiple Gibson Les Pauls, Stratocasters, SG's, Flying Vs, Ibanez's and played tons of other models throughout the years and this one beats them all in comfort and speed. Its also an awesome sounding guitar and extremely fast neck. I was in the market for a true Shred guitar and the day I bought it I played every Ibanez, Schecter, ESP under $1000 in the store and nothing compared to this for playability, speed, rock solid construction, comfort and feel in your hand. Plus it has awesome sounding EMG pickups. I was hitting 6 string sweeps the first instant I tried them (usually I duff a few notes the first couple of tries). It had super low action right off the wall and no setup was necessary. I picked this up and instantly knew I had to get it. (I traded it for an Ibanez RG series) This thing is a shredding machine if thats what your going for. Plus it looks great. (First thing my girlfriend said when she saw it was "Wow I really like that guitar") I honestly never gave Jackson's much though before this guitar. For example, after searching online for a few days on ratings/scores for the best shred guitars under $1000, Jacksons were always mentioned, but always beat out by Ibanez, ESP and Schecter. For the price, it cant be beat. Makes me wonder what Jacksons top of the line stuff is like compared to the other brands out there...

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is rock solid! Plays blazing fast and feels awesome while hitting power chords or flying around the fret board during soloing. Killer feel, best sound for under $700; you can't go wrong with this one. I swear I started playing better the second I picked this up not kidding; magic I guess.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

I've never been a fan of Jackson's. Ive always leaned more towards Schecter, Gibson or ESP, but I picked this thing up in a store one day and it changed my views. It feels like a Schecter Hellraiser and an Ibanez Prestige had a kid and put a Jackson logo on. Definitely the most comfortable guitar I've ever owned. $650 for what feel so like a $900 guitar is a steal! Definitely recommend it!!

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG3-6 Electric Guitar:

Well this is my first Jackson Guitar. I've been a Dean guy the whole time I've been playing and still love my Dean's, but needed to get rid of a Dean Custom Run ML because it was getting to big for myself with a muscle disease, to handle. I also was wanting a set of EMG 81/85 pickups. I found this Jackson at my local Guitar Center and traded for this awesome Jackson. First the playability; the "famed" Jackson Speed Neck with Compound Radius Fretboard is not just advertising, it's awesome. I've loved the neck on my Dean's and hated the Ibanez Wizard necks; but Jackson gets it right. Thin, fast and almost plays itself. Love the traditional hard tail bridge as well, besides very stable tuning it affords a great anchor point for my pick hand. Second is tone; tone is great. It is exactly what you'd expect from a guitar with EMG 81/85s. Fat distortion, quiet cleans and very quiet overall without unwanted noise. I had a Dean Deceiver Flame Maple with the same EMGs and the tone is almost the same except I think the Dean had a little more bite from the Maple Top and just a hair more sustain from the Dean's Mahogany body versus this Basswood body; but these are neglible and made up for by the neck and fretboard. Lastly is looks. Not drop your jaw gorgeous, but it's this guitar's understated and classy good looks that it stunning. You need to know it is very Glossy, not like the pictures. But the finish is very resilient against fingerprints, a huge bonus. But love the classic black and the all over white binding. Great guitar, great tone, great playability and great build quality.
