Overview

Titanic tone and fantastic flexibility come from the humbucking Seymour Duncan TB4 bridge and SH1N neck pickups with 3-way selector. Resounding resonance is achieved with a thru-body, quarter-sawn maple neck and alder body. Original Floyd Rose double-locking trem in a recessed bridge cavity combines with a bound ebony 24-fret fingerboard, scooped lower bout, and reduced heel for limitless playing freedom. Scorching Jackson looks are enhanced by the carved maple top, bound headstock, black hardware, and custom green ghost flames paint job on black. 25-1/2" scale, 1-11/16" nut.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better! Includes case.

If you desire two humbuckers, a neck through, an original floyd rose and a PERFECT setup out of the box then this is your best choice in the category. I own a bunch of high end guitars from many of the big name guitar makers and competitors of this one, and this guitar out plays them all. sound is subjective...I absolutely love the sound of the duncans with an ebony board and a neck through...but this guitar really shines in playability. I have had to perform work to all of my other guitars (even my Prestige and M-II)including fret leveling in order to get the others to play nearly as low as my SL2H. I am picky about low action but dont like any buzzing or bend-out. All of my guitars are set up so every fret can be bent up at least a full step. The SL2H came set up with 1mm clearance at the 12th fret. I can slide a 1mm pick up between the fret and the string at the 12th and it stays. Unbelievably, every note on the fretboard sounds FULL and there are NO dead spots when bending...even with the action this low. This guitar is a dream come true. If you are experienced at setting up guitars with LOW action then you will understand the value of these traits. Thank you, Jackson.

Do not buy this guitar!!!! Junk!! I bought this guitar in Nov 2013. After having to return the first two for defects, cracked inlays, mismatch parts, defective floyd rose and the list go's on and on the third one is some what OK. This guitar looks great- guitars are made to play, these only look good, isn't real heavy- feels like a cheap toy, but for the price it is very very disappointing. This thing should be awesome! It doesn't stay in tune, after changing the strings with the correct gauge, I spent hours trying to get the intonation correct. The floyd rose adjusters on the bridge where junk, had to take them off and make them level. Took it to the store and said they couldn't do any thing. Would not let me return it because I had returned the first two that where defectiveI have a 1988 Fender Heavy Metal strat that will run circles around this Guitar. I have wanted a Jackson USA for years and now that I have one I am very disappointed. At least buying from Guitar Center , or so I thought!! You can return it unless you get a couple in a row that you return, but if you don't buy something else or another one they charge you for the shipping.

Sustain For Days!

By Nicholas Greenwood

from Seattle, WA

Had a USA Jackson a while back, sold it, and it bothered me so much I just had to own another. The TRANSPARENT GREEN looks absolutely fantastic with a bookmatched flame maple top and even a flame maple headstock. Not quite what you would get on a PRS, but it's still killer. The quartersawn maple neck-through will give you sustain for days and the 12"-16" compound radius is comfortable to play in both the low and high register. The pots have a smooth and even taper. The Duncan TB-4/JB humbucker is punchy, but a little too warm--I suggest putting a Dimebucker in the bridge to complement the maple and ebony. The Floyd Rose worked well right out of the box, but I like to do my own setups and maintenance. Got mine in 2012 and the case that came with it is an SKB hardshell with TSA latches and the Jackson logo on the side. What more could you ask for? BUY THIS NOW!

My 2nd Jackson SL2H, I truly love them!!

By Matt Garcia

from Houston, TX

I bought a trans black SL2H earlier this year, and was so impressed with it, I bought a 2nd just last week. I've owned a USA Mockingbird SL, a Fender Strat, a Jackson SL1 and a Gibson Les Paul Standard+ and I have to say, the USA Soloist is the finest guitar I've ever played!! I still own the Gibson. My 2nd Soloist is a trans red with a figured maple top. It is absolutely gorgeous! When I got it (used), the strings were a little high. Having previous experience with Floyd tremelos, I was able to bring it down almost 1/8", and now the strings just barely hover over the frets with absolutely no fret buzz. If you want a great looking, great sounding, great playing guitar, pick up a USA SL2H. You will be glad you did, but one warning.....they are very addictive!!

Awesome guitar

By JT

from Miami, Florida

Had this guitar for 3 months now, best neck ever, playability can't be beat. Only knock is the placement of the volume pot. Too close to the bridge, hit it when playing long, fast runs and end up lowering volume when I don't want to. Had to lower the knob closer to the body so it wouldn't turn as easy. If redesigning this, I would move the volume pot away from the bridge, also the high E string is not very loud, had to adjust the PU pole piece to increase gain. Other than that this is the first axe I grab for a gig out of my dozen other axes, some of them twice the price.

Comfortable & Fun to Play

By Chris

from Hanover, PA

I purchased this guitar yesterday. I have several other guitars (Les Paul Custom, Gibson ES-335, Fender Strat, Washburn, 2xClassical guitars) this guitar is by far the easiest of all to play. The neck has great action and is very comfortable. The only issues I have with this guitar is re-stringing and tuning, but once you learn the tricks its no longer an issue. It is a bit on the pricy side, but I feel it is worth the investment. Also, I had a choice between a PRS & this guitar, I much prefered the feel of this guitar and the sound.

Worth Every Penny

By Sam

from Santee

I've wanted a Jackson USA Soloist for years. I bought one about a month ago and have no regrets. The pickups aren't Duncan's highest output models, but they offer a wide range of tones and scream plenty. The action is beautiful; very low and smooth. The neck-thru design gives extra needed sustain. The double-locking tremelo is sturdy enough to deliver divebombs all day with little or no need for retuning. I love playing this guitar.

I love this guitar

By Ryan

from San Diego, CA

It is by far the best guitar I have ever played. The neck is extremely fast, the pickups are great, and it's an overall awesome guitar that's also great for metal and thrash and shred and all of that! I highly recommend purchasing replacement EMG pickups though. but otherwise, this guitar is perfect as is
