Overview

New Jackson X Series guitars are loaded with purebred Jackson DNA: neck-through-body construction, hot humbucking pickups, bound compound-radius fingerboards with distinctive shark-fin inlays, and stunning finishes. Classic Jackson models imbued with the X factor, with fantastic tone, ultra-fast playability and unbelievable value for 21st century guitarists.

The Jackson Rhoads RR24 has a flat-top basswood body, through-body maple neck, a pair of Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, a tight, cutting JB bridge pickup and a fat, warm 59 neck pickup delivering well-balanced tone with tight bass, glassy mids and crunching highs.

Its bound compound-radius rosewood fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. Other features include Floyd Rose Special double-locking two-point tremolo, 24 jumbo frets and three-way pickup switching.

Comments about Jackson RRX24 Electric Guitar:

Great guitar as you'd expect from Jackson. Be warned though, although the photos on guitar center's website show a battery compartment (making you believe the pickups are active), they are actually passive and there is NO Battery compartment. Although I thought I was buying an active humbucking pickup guitar, I am very pleased with the sound of the passive pickups on this rig. These pickups are hot though for passives. No problem with lead solos, tapping, legato, etc. Set-up is nice. You'll need to give the strings a good stretch when you get this and then tune as the strings aren't stretched at the factory. This guitar is beautiful. The white pick-ups and chrome contrast nicely with the flat white. The neck is very smooth and fast. Well balanced for a V guitar..much better balance than my Schecter V. The Seymour Duncan pickups are really nice. Get a great growl through my 6505 with these, excellent harmonics too. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to GC's false advertising with photos of active guitar pickups/battery compartment...otherwise it is really nice.

Comments about Jackson RRX24 Electric Guitar:

This is my favorite guitar! The slender V shaped body gives a feeling that its not too big, it is also light so if you do gigs, this is a good choice to carry around and also the pickups are great! I can record on my phone and you don't get a feedback sound from this guitar, i can also be in front of my fender amp and not get feedback. this guitar is great for the experienced intermediate player to a professional musician! Will buy a jackson rhoads guitar again! Also, the price is a bit high but know that you are getting a very great piece of gear for the price!

Comments about Jackson RRX24 Electric Guitar:

I too was fooled thinking that these were active SD pickups, one of the reasons I was buying this guitar, as I down-tune and find active electronics better suited for clarity in the lower registers than passive for that application. So that is a minus for GC, not Jackson. I am biased here as I LOVE Jackson, this is my 6th Jackson guitar, and it does not disappoint. For starters it looks amazing, flat white and black and bone accents with the chrome to me look amazing. It's easy to play, everything is in the right place and it sounds great in C tuning. Doesn't have the same clarity as EMG's but it has something "different" more of a growl and the neck pickup is very distinct so that will give a lot of versatility here. I am not really a Floyd fan as I am not much on dive bombing so setup for me was a more time consuming process than I find typical. I ended up taking nearly everything apart as I tune to C and obviously have heavier strings so a string by string change was not really going to be of much benefit. I had to restring, lower the overall height of the bridge, adjust the spring claw and adjust the truss rod tension (increase) about 1/4 of a turn to de-bow the neck. After spending the typical time tuning the Floyd this guitar is locked and solid. This was a bit of a pain point for me but perhaps more experienced Floyd users/players won't see it that way at all. Overall I am very happy with this guitar, its a great add to my roster.
