Comments about Jackson RRMG Randy Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar:

Top notch guitar! This is by far the best guitar that I have played or owned. The balance is perfect, the active pickups are screaming, and the coil tap on the neck pick up creates some great clean tones. The unfinished neck feels great and does not snag your hand on stage when you begin to sweat.

Comments about Jackson RRMG Randy Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar:

This guitar rips! With the active EMGs and the coil tapping ability of the neck pick up, you can really get some awesome sounds out of this axe. The bridge p'up, when coil tapped, gives you a crystal clear clean sound without any twang.
The thin, unfinished, compound radius neck makes playing fast effortless.
As with any brand new guitar, I would suggest getting it set up by a guitar Tech to your preferences and playing style. After all, it does have a Floyd Rose. (I laugh when I read reviews that mention a "poor setup" out of the box. Of course it will not be right, it's not set up for your style!) But, back to the axe.
The finish is matte, so don't expect it to shine under the stage lights, but the finish adds to its unique character.
The only issue that I have with mine is that the shark fin inlays are too dark once you're on stage. I purchased a set of glow in the dark inlays for the side of the neck to compensate.
I would highly recommend this guitar if you are in to the "V" shaped bodies. Just remember to get yours set up before you play it. Oh, and strap lock, as well :)

Comments about Jackson RRMG Randy Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar:

All in all, this is a good Axe. For its price range, its better than most. I am impressed Jackson has put forth an item like this, since their next available model is nearly $1600 more than this. Ive owned a few RR models over the years, of better quality than this. This one keeps pace pretty well. Thats the jist. Now for specifics:

Starting with Cons, because thats what people look for:

      1) My biggest grumble is the neck binding. Normally, this would be neat, but the binding is some kind of tortise pearloid material that is grey. The white side markers blend in perfectly, and you cannot see them well, unless you're Batman. Its very annoying. I had to modify them to see them better. Not impressed with this option.
      2) EMG Pickups. I hate them. The world should learn to hate them as well. They are noisy, cheap, and the worst part is they are EVERYWHERE. Kids, do yourself a favor, and take a look at something like a Gibson 500T, a Seymour Duncan Blackout, or even a Charvel/Jackson J-90-BC. These EMG Pickups these days are trash, quit playing them. There is a reason they appear on cheaper guitars. Done deal.

      Pros:
      1) Good neck. Its a sanded satin-like neck, very comfy and smooth. Plays nice. I like it.
      2) Comes with an original Floyd, like more things should at this price range. Fun times.
      3) Push/Pull coil tap: Every humbucker guitar should have one. Dont argue, you're wrong.
      4) Quality: overall its good stuff. Plays good, ditch the EMGs for something more substantial, and I bet it would even sound good.

      ---

Bottom Line? Yes, I would recommend it.

Comments about Jackson RRMG Randy Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar:

So, yeah. I was on vacation in Virginia Beach, and i ran across this beauty at a guitar store. I'd always wanted a Jackson rr1, and was never really convinced that there was another Rhoads-style to my liking. I saw this guy on the shelf and decided to pick it up. The first thing that I noticed was that I LOVED the grey finish and the aluminum inlays (which are kind of hard to see when you're playing). Now, i will say, that if you've never played a Rhoads, well, it takes a little getting used to. I love it though. The EMGs are like a swiss army knife. They can make this thing sound like anything. The neck is as thin as it gets, and the oiled finish is like butter. If you're into radical, fast, and powerful, this is definitely the machine for you.

        Amazing Guitar

        By Bailey Jareth

        from Wichita, KS

Comments about Jackson RRMG Randy Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar:

Jackson has hit the nail on the head again. I was looking for another Rhoads style guitar but didn't want to pay a fortune for the USA Select again so I got this one right after it dropped. Let me tell you, this thing is amazing. The sound quality you get from this is just as good as the USA models clear and crisp perfect for lead. Just to be clear though this is an Indonesian model, but don't let that play you down. This guitar is extremely light and very playable. The oiled finish on the neck is far better than I could of asked for, no sticky feel from the paint because there isn't any, but the down side is it's not 24 frets it's 22. Also I would like to point out that the neck pick up is not an EMG 85 but an EMG 89. Still a very nice versatile pick up. It's a split coil model so it gives you a different range of tones, I have found myself using it when I'm playing in clean channels then dumping it back to the 81 for my distortion simply because it gives it a clearer tone, bright and some what airy in the single coil position and powerful warm and rich in the dual coil position. The paint finish on this guitar also seems very thick and to me that means durability. All in all though if you're looking for that perfect metal guitar with tons attack on the sound for a good deal this is it. Well worth the $$
