Overview

The strikingly designed Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar is a great guitar for its price. Alder body (with flamed maple top on the transparent finishes), maple neck, compound-radius rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson low-profile double-locking tremolo, Seymour Duncan JB (bridge) and Jazz (neck) humbuckers, volume/volume/tone with 3-way switching, and black hardware.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

To be honest, I cannot understand why so many people are DROOLING over this guitar. It is probably one of the worst guitars I've played. And it's not just ONE RR3 that I've played. I've played SEVEN of them and they were all horrible. The only good feature is the pickups, but they are not worth the rest of this awful instrument. The tuners are bogus, far too small and loose for my taste. The licensed floyd rose would be okay if it were a schaller floyd, but it's a "low profile" jackson floyd. This means it cannot handle drop tunings without buzzing and will go out of tune in about three dive-bombs. The shape is nice, but the body is made of cheap, second-rate wood, and has no resonance. The neck is a bolt on. This I muct rant about. How is it that guitar companies like Schecter and ESP can produce guitars for the same price-range as Jackson's, and yet ESP and Schecter make their guitars with REAL original Floyd Rose bridges and neck-thru or set-neck construction, while jackson has crappy bolt-on necks and fake floyds? Ridiculous. The neck feels like a small log. It is fat and wide, and the string spaceing is so wide it make good sweep-picking impossible. This guitar should cost three-hundred dollars. It's not worth the cash. Avoid it.

Awesome Guitar

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is really great. The stock pickups sound great through my Line 6 Spider Jam. When I first got it the action was pretty high but that was an easy fix. The floyd rose is really good. It wont go out of tune for nothing. I can't find anything wrong with it really. I thought it was going to be pain to sit with but it really isnt. The neck is really fast (just like Jackson's should be). I got the black and it looks great. It sounds great for any style music and is an overall great guitar

Great V guitar

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

The sound is really good with the seymor duncans. It stays in tune even when you do huge dive bombs. I'd say the worst part about this guitar is that the long wing will get dinged up fast. I recommend this guitar!

This guitar is worth every penny

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I know people who own this guitar and I've played one myslef, and I gotta say that I'm impressed...not uncommon for me when it comes to Jackson guitars. The pickups are very good, and if you're not satisfied you can easily adjust your amp/pedal/eq settings. The neck feels pretty comfortable, and the Rhoads body design is perfect for both sitting down and it looks good when you stand up. It never goes out of tune, even after extreme whammy abuse. I reccomend this to anyone who wants a guitar worth using.

Nice

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar just 2 days ago and it is sweet. I wanted a guitar that looks cool and has a Floyd Rose so I can use it at my schools talent show. This is it! The licensed Floyd Rose does stay in tune pretty good. It comes out just a little bit but you can barely notice it. Everyone says it is so hard to play and sit down with it. It isn't really. Just put the smaller wing in between your legs. I got the crimson swirl color and it's awesome. The pickups are great. I recommend this guitar!

Stage Gear

By Zehm

from North Carolina

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this just before Christmas, and it is a joy to own. Online photos have never done justice to the finishes on any of my guitars. When I got it the neck was shifted just slightly to the left so the low E would start to slide off the fretboard around the 12th fret, but that was a quick fix. And the neck-end strap button needed to be moved to the other side of the bolt plate so it would balance correctly, the only real complaint I have with it is that, when distorted, the neck pickup sounds almost exactly like the bridge so I'm going to exchange it for a Duncan Distortion or a Di'marzio Super 3. It has great natural tone, so dont ruin it with EMGs. Oh, and the trem holds tune surprisingly well. All in all it's a pro quality instrument.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Got another one of these axes online used. It sounds better than any axe I have ever played. Duncans are awesome! Shredability is awesome! Loud and proud is the way I play it, it takes a punishment every time I turn my half stack on. Jackson has done a great thing in making this axe. I will buy many more from them!

I tried this guitar out at a guitar shop a couple days sgo and it rocks! The floyd rose is great and keeps it in tune even after a 100 dive bombs. I dont really like the jazz neck seymour duncan though. Overall I think it is a great guitar and worth the cash.

metal-head's dream

By Garland B

from michigan

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

this guitar rocks! i loved this guitar from the moment i saw it so i bought one a couple months ago. coupled with some superslinkys, this guitar rocks. although the seymour duncan's are nice, an emg 85 in the neck and an emg 81 in the body sound a lot nicer. this guitar is great for sitting around playing, band practice or doing shows. it looks pretty and playes nice, too. the shape takes some getting used to and the tips chip easily, but i lve it anyway. the floyd rose is a nice feature along with the locking nut so it doesn't go out of tune. one problem is that it takes forever to change the tuning from d to c because you have to reset the springs. but i strongly recomend this guitar to any metal-head like myself.
