Overview

The strikingly designed Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar is a great guitar for its price. Alder body (with flamed maple top on the transparent finishes), maple neck, compound-radius rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson low-profile double-locking tremolo, Seymour Duncan JB (bridge) and Jazz (neck) humbuckers, volume/volume/tone with 3-way switching, and black hardware.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

    Randy would be pleased

    By Brandon Moore

    from Clarksville, OH

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I love this guitar man. Dive bombs sear, the neck feels comftorble for people with large hands. The neck pick up sounds killer, great for sweep picking. The bridge pick up could have some more sustaine, so I will probally invest in a better quality bridge pick up. But other than that it's one of the best guitars I've played.

    GOOD FOR METAL

    By Ripps4-29

    from Reno, NV

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Jackson guitars has always had a reputation for quality metal instruments. I've used it to play the EVH "Eruption" trick, and the sound is good for metal...The body also feels good to hold. Play this for 30 minutes, then go play another metal guitar for 2 hours. You'll notice a difference in sound and feel.

Pretty Nice Rhoads for Those Who Want to Shred

    By SHRED_HEAD

    from NJ

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

The RR3 is definitely a nice V guitar. The asymmetrical shape fits real nice between the legs while sitting down. However, due to the looseness of the Floyd Rose made it tend to droop down and hit my legs. That could be adjusted. The neck on it is nice, but My Ibanez Wizard II neck is faster. The trem is fun to do dive bombs with and play stuff like Dragonforce, Vai or Satch on it. I marked it down in features because i'm not too fond of the neck joint on the model. If it was AANJ or a Scalloped heel i would have bought it immediately, but it's not so I put it on hold. I marked it down on quality because the model I played had high action and was out of tune...noticably. However, those are all simple things to adjust. In other words, If you are an aspiring shred-head like me, this is a perfect guitar for you to begin shredding with.

Best guitar I have ever owned

    By Blakk Dragn

    from Warren, Michagain USA

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Ive been playing for a little over a year now and was using a used Dean Dimeoflame. Compared to the jackson however, there is no comparison. I run through a Line 6 Spider 3 amp, and the metal distorion sounds amazing. And the Jackon's adler body is wicked cool and the graphic pattern (got the eerie dess) is not at all grainy or bubly like on the Dean. The action is insanely low and fast and the Floyd never gets in the way (a porblem with the Dean's huge tremo) The best part about the Jackson is it's compound neck makes it easaier for even some with short fingers like me to shed. I would recommend this product to anyone with hands, for they dont know what they are missing.

    metal-head's dream

    By Garland B

    from michigan

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

this guitar rocks! i loved this guitar from the moment i saw it so i bought one a couple months ago. coupled with some superslinkys, this guitar rocks. although the seymour duncan's are nice, an emg 85 in the neck and an emg 81 in the body sound a lot nicer. this guitar is great for sitting around playing, band practice or doing shows. it looks pretty and playes nice, too. the shape takes some getting used to and the tips chip easily, but i lve it anyway. the floyd rose is a nice feature along with the locking nut so it doesn't go out of tune. one problem is that it takes forever to change the tuning from d to c because you have to reset the springs. but i strongly recomend this guitar to any metal-head like myself.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This is the king of guitars for metal. I'm a huge fan of Jackson guitars and the RR3 is one of their finest. The features are great. It's a bit hard playing it sitting down though. The style on it is great too.

    WOW! Simply Amazing,

    By Sid

    from Utah, Eagle Mountain

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I have had this guitar for several months now and after i put my ideal strings on it this thing felt amazing. It is kind of funky to sit and play at first but you get used to it pretty fast, the pickups are pretty good and the neck feels amazing. This guitar is also probably one of the lightest electric guitars i have ever held. so anyways, if you love to shred, this is a deffinate shreader guitar and it is deffinetly worth every penny.

    Sweetest Ride for the buck

    By -P.C-

    from Flint, Mi.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I have always been a Strat kinda guy. I have a Jackson Stealth ex, and (it being a Jappanese guitar as well) gave one of these a try. I was initially scared of the way the body tilts "away from the player" but soon found out how much this helped my soloing!!!! My goodness, I love this rr3 so much, I went back the very next week and bought another one. (My wife was not ammused) . I can comforatably play all the way up and down this fret board, I even manage to pull off a 1st, 3rd, 5th fretted arpeggios(sp) with my index, middle, pinky without biting my own face off. Standard hard-ware (tried and trued) Floyd, Semore DUNCANS(not the"duncan designed"copies.) First thing I did (to both) was throw some #9 Ghs Boomers on there, and back off the tremelo spring mounted screws about 1/4 turn (To raise the action just a hair, and level out the Tremolo) Amazing fretboard! Amazing pickups!

    Jackson Rhoads ROCKS!!!

    By Kid Khaos

    from Midland, MI

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I bought this guitar about a week ago and I LOVE it. It has amazing tone on both pickups. I have yet to experiance any problems with it. You can give the RR3 a brutal beating on the whammy bar and never have to worry about it going out of tune. The price was amazing. Nothing I have played can compair to this masterwork. I have played on both clean and heavily distorted tones and it sounds AMAZING on both.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I've owned this guitar for almost a year now, and I love it. It sounds really great, and the action on the fretboard is perfect. The ONLY flaw is that the bridge doesn't lock that well. But otherwise this is a really great guitar, and I think that its a must have for anyone thats looking for a killer guitar to push their sound over the top!

    Great Guitar

    By ecyrb101

    from San Diego, Carlsbad

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar after playing for a couple of years. It is one of the greatest guitars i have played. The action is great and the sound is incredible. The only flaw is that it doesn't have the original floyd rose and it has the Duncan Design pickups. But for its price it is great! If you have the money though i would go for the RR5 or RR1.

    This a sweet guitar!

    By B-dog

    from Oc Ca

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar in black when it came to my house I almost pooped my pants because, it looked so sweet. I am also a big Randy Rhoads fan just because, he is a god. Then when I played it I was even more amased because, it sounded like nothing else. This guitar is all around radical but, if you had the money for an rr1 or rr5 do it. than write a review.

    Resurrecting Rhoads...~

    By Jonathon Gadd xav

    from Noblesville, Indiana

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

To ALL, I have just purchased a new RR3 Jackson. After being a Fender Strat guy my entire life I wanted to try on something new to bring back the Randy Rhoads days of my youth. The RR3 pickups has the punch that Rhoads would have deserved. It sounds great. The seymour's seem to have a sustainable qualtiy to them even at eXtreamly high volume. I was most impressed with the action of the guitar. Don't be fooled by the high action settings that the RR3 arrives with at the store. Once you get it home you will quickly see how easly it is to set the new floyd rose system to the perfect low action necessary. The new swirling color (red) is great. When playing in colored lights it gives off the necessary aurora needed for maximum effect! My only complaint would be that jackson should invert the bridge volume knob with the neck volume knob. This would allow for easier volume swells. The bridge knob seems to be tucked under the (swinging) trem bar a little to shallow. Regardless of this fact it still works great. Also the trem bar female fitting seems to lock up the trem bar too tight when adjusted all the way down. Be sure to check yours out before leaving the store. However this tremolo system will wail like no other. I highly recommend the RR3 to any guitarist wishing to bring back Randy Rhoads on their own fretboard. S.A.T.O Jonathon Gadd Noblesville, Indiana

    AMAZING!!!

    By Christian Metal Head

    from AR

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I first saw this guitar at the GC grand opeing in my area. I picked it up, and it was perfect. I loved everything about it. Before I found this baby, I had my heart set on a Gibson Faded V. The RR3 blew it out of the water. the Gibson couldn't compare. The Seymore Duncan JB and Jazz pickups wail, I still intend to swap them for a pair of SD Distortion pickups. The unfinished maple neck is smoothe as silk, and the finish (black) is beautiful. And don't listen to people when they tell you "It's hard to play sitting down.". All in all, it's a great buy. Don't think twice, just go for it... Now.

    Awesome

    By TSMF

    from Oregon

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I bought this guitar about 1 year ago and it still plays excellent. The pickups are straight foward for metal tone. Some people might have to get used to the neck heavy design but that is easy to get over after a little play time. I would suggest the guitar to headbangers, and avoid it if your looking for Beatles, Clapton, 60s era tones.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Series Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is awesome but it's not very comfortable when you're playing it sitting down. It's a good price for a RRs since the RR, RR1 and RR5 cost more than the RR3 here.

The RR3 is worth getting! I've had mine since January '07 and I've never put it down. It sounds like a monster, plays how you want, it's not too heavy and has an LFR Double-locking Trem. And plus it looks cool.
