New Jackson X Series guitars are loaded with purebred Jackson DNA-hot humbucking pickups, bound compound-radius fingerboard with the distinctive shark-fin inlays, and stunning finishes. Classic Jackson models imbued with the X factor, with fantastic tone, ultra-fast playability and unbelievable value for 21st century guitarists.
The Jackson King V KVXT has a basswood body, through-body maple neck and EMG HZ H4-B and HZ H4-AN humbucking pickups that deliver well-balanced tone with tight bass, glassy mids and crunching highs. Its bound compound-radius rosewood fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. Other features include 24 jumbo frets, three-way pickup switching and TonePros fully adjustable bridge with through-body strings for thick sustain. Case sold separately.

Great guitar. Action came ultra low from the warehouse. I don't see the black with the red tips on the Jackson site anymore so it might be a limited run. The EMG hz pick ups are actually passive and they give a very distinctive honky midrange tone that offsets from my other guitars very well. They have the EMG quick disconnect, so swapping out is a cinch. The tuners are average, not the best, but suitable given the price. The guitar hums a bit with an amp running tons of gain, sorta like a single coil does. I'm gonna have this looked at but a noise gate handles it ok. I think a have a ground out somewhere, no biggie.
I got this kvxt as a hand-me-down from a friend. He didnt like it because he played really drop tuned death metal so if you play really low tunings..this isnt the guitar for you. I play in a signed Thrash Metal band, and I play in standard Eb and drop d on some songs. This axe when I got it had a lot of issues from neglect, but after taking good care of her, she plays just like a u.s.a. IF NOT BETTER! reason I say if not better is because although it's a cheaper wood (Bass Wood) this guitar is so light! (compared to my gibson custom shop explorer made of roasted mahogany) this guitar featuring the maple neck thru construction also is not neck heavy like I expected! Most v's are..but this guitar is not in the least bit neck heavy! It is very durable, very snappy and tight sounding, I took the EMG's out because I am not an EMG fan..I'm a duncan guy. But once replaced with some duncan jb's, this thing shreds it dosent growl, it roars! I also upgraded the hardware, the nut, the fretts, wiring , etc. so this guitar is up to the u.s.a. standards. All in All BUY THIS GUITAR! IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW, YOU OBVIOUSLY WANTED TO CHECK OUT JACKSON V'S FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF PURCHASING ONE. DO. IT. NOW. I have the Burnt Cherry, let me say...the pictures DON'T DO JUSTICE! this thing is BEAUTIFUL!!! LIKE I SAID, BUY THE KING V. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DO IT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! AND KEEP METAL ALIVE !!! \M/
