The Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar has an edgy body design and shark fin inlays that make a bold statement with looks alone. But this rocker is a sonic flamethrower too. Its sculpted edges make it comfortable to play and the overall balance of the instrument is excellent. It is powered by genuine Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups: a Jazz SH2N at the neck and a JB TB4 at the bridge for lots of firepower and sustain. The JT580LP tremolo lets you bend and twist notes to the max while staying in tune. The Jackson Kelly also has an alder body for plenty of warm, chunky tone; a rock maple neck with a bound compound-radius maple fretboard; and a scalloped heel, which means uninhibited access to the upper frets.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut (12") for easy chording and flattens out (16") as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

just got better

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

the way an explorer should be made plain and simple , its got no useless tone knob which was a huge pull factor for me, I played this guitar for two or three months minimum before writing this so the wow factor is gone so no 10s across the board. Does your gibson have 24 frets, a floyd rose or a 25.5 scale? probably not and hey this is much cheaper, the necks on jackson guitars in this price range are amazing too. Needs a bit of money invested to be absolutely perfect but 10s across the board from someone like me is hard to do but I was impressed with this i thought the guitar was going to sound terrible and I was just making a quick buck but I really like this series and Jackson make amazing guitars.
This is near perfect we get the tone wood of a strat, a longer scale and more frets than a gibson explorer , a fast and thin maple neck , with a proper setup on this guitar plays itself. Jackson gets it though no tone knob is needed on a metal guitar! I mean I gave this a 7 because I'd love a firestorm gain knob which Jackson has on the DK2 or a newly called afterburner like on the DKMGT , if not maybe a coiltap but this is meat and potatoes I love it for that. This got better because of the new pickups, real Seymour Duncan invaders would be more appealing but I guess they would confuse people. Compared to the 1990s era Jackson Kellys equivelant to the KE3 the floyd rose on that one was nicer except for the fact its bar didn't twist in as easy, felt more strat like. But another minus two and this is nitpicking but you need a special tool to adjust the trussrod that most guitarists may not have, you need a 5/16 socket wrench, not an allen key, when I bought my 2003 one (I have two now) as a project guitar and I thought the kid broke a drill bit or something off in it but this type of trussrod I've seen on many other jacksons from other series as I've continued to buy guitars.
Amazing sound , bright with lots of sustain and fullness not many guitars I've owned (20+) can offer , no dead notes on any of them , little to no fretbuzz with insanely low action , but on my 2003 KE3 I have to CONSTANTLY adjust the trussrod on it, never had this problem with a Dinky DKMGT or my 90s Kelly Professional series , just bought the other KE3 so its out of the question so far, but all made in Japan so its not a question of quality as countries made in for the most part people have to get their heads out of their "bums". Other than that KE3's have great quality I highly recommend this brand to pros and beginners.
its near perfect spec and parts wise you get name brand pickups which EVERYONE emphasizes on, its not basswood or a cheap wood for the body either, i can see down the road jackson switching to floyd rose specials and grover tuners eventually but still it stays in tune for at least a month with the floyd rose taken care of, the new pickups they got on the 2008+ version are great who hasn't played a Jeff beck, the guitar sings so it just shows you, you don't need ot have a neckthrough gutiar. Down the road I would probably add that gain knob or a coiltap but thats really nitpicking , it could get boring but thats what effects pedals are for and I mean say the EMG afterburner with a cheap guitar tech doing the mod is going to cost peanuts.

Great guitar! Yeahh

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

The best guitar I've ever owned.
Great thin neck, solid body, I bought the transparent green and it is awsome!

The seymor duncan pickups are great, excellent clean and heavy on distortion, easy to get harmonics.

The FR is excellent, holds the divebombs. Came perfectly set as I like, with really low action

One thing I didn't like is that The neck falls when you take your hands off it.
Well built, came perfectly set, solid guitar. Really nice pickups.

The guys from musician told me that it comes with the standard jackson rectangular hard case, but It came with the shaped case. Nice case, but not the original.

The volume knob should be placed away from that area. I hit it a lot, lowering the volume.
I've played on Fenders, gibson LP, ibanez RGs, and I'm in love with this guitar.

The best guitar neck, better than the kelly ke2, that comes painted, and holds your hand.

Has less sustain, but for the price+\- U$2000 less than the ke2, the KE3 is GREAT

Awesome Axe!!!!

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

First off I would like to say that (To me anyway) Jackson has ALWAYS produced one of the BEST Guitar's out there! The Quality-Build-Fit & Finish-Componets Etc of their Guitar's are AWESOME! I had a Dinky DK2 for awhile which played great & never had one issue. I wanted a Kelly for awhile & when the chance came to Trade my DK2 for a KE-3 in "Erie Dess Swirl" I went for it! & let me tell you Im glad I did! The Body on this Bad Boy is one of the Baddest looking out there! It has M-E-T-A-L written all over it! The Neck is Killer & Fast! & it's very comfortable to play while sitting down. This Axe is a Killer Shred Monster & has a great "Feel" to it! The M-E-T-A-L sound that comes through your Amp (I play mine through a Peavey Bandit 112 "Teal Stripe" which sounds great) while playing WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! LOL! I would suggest this Axe to anyone. If M-E-T-A-L is your thing then look no further. The Kelly is here & ALWAYS ready to Shred!!!!!!

Very versatile guitar from an awesome brand

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

Got this guitar as an early Christmas present and WOW! This thing is perfect for me. I mostly play metal but also often venture into rock, blues and some "acoustic"/finger-style stuff and this guitar handles it all. The SD Jazz neck pickup makes for clean, crisp solos when playing metal, rock and blues and makes for a great clean tones during finger-style pieces or clean sections in songs of the other genres. The JB makes a fantastic crunch for punchy rhythms in metal, rock and blues songs.I will say I was quite concerned about the lack of a tone knob/2nd volume knob. However, I can honestly say that it's no big deal. If you don't need the tone knob or independent volume knobs for each pickup and were considering a Jackson in this price range, GET THIS BAD BOY! You will not regret it!

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

This Guitar is outstanding! When you use the bridge pickup, it is very easy to do pinch harmonics and screams. The shape of the guitar feels very nice when you sit down and looks awesome when play standing up! I play a lot of Megadeth, Metallica and Van Halen and this guitar would make a great choice that kind of music.

The looks are only surpassed by the sound

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

I bought the one with the skull finish, and boy the picture here doesnt do it justice, it is a beauty in person. Once you find the right settings on your amp, you can make the guitar sound amazing. A lot of people say that the pick ups should be replaced, now i dont think so. The pick ups might sound as if they are bad but just adjust your amp's settings correctly and you can make it sound perfect, but thats your choice, you just gotta experiment. Dive Bombs are amazing, Whammy Bar is really nice on it and it doesnt untune the guitar at all, it stays tune for like ever. great guitar, and if ur used to the neck already, it'll even make u play better: it did for me. i totally recommend the guitar, and the skull finish doesnt change the soudn but trust me, it makes it look so beautiful and hot. 5 star guitar, its a metal machine, and even softer songs with fingerpicking or simple chord progressions sound great on it.

Awesome Axe

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

So, after my house burned down I lost my previous two guitars. That week, I was to play a gig at my church (I know, a Kelly at a church, but eh, it works lol). I saw the KE3 used. I picked her up, and knew she was for me. The neck is awesome. Thin, but not flat (I was used to my Ibanez RG, so it was a bit different for me lol. Not better, just different). I use 'er for all styles of music. I genuinely love this guitar. I plan on getting many other axes, but for now, she does the job perfectly fine \m/ I recommend the KE3's highly. Oh, she has a beautiful finish too XD

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar:

This is by far one of the best guitar I've ever owned. After paying it for 2 weeks its amazing and unreal the sound that produces the seymore duncans and also is very clean, that means you cand do it all, so Jam it !!. Yes It might not be the first guitar thoght but if you are looking to have a very aceotable guitar and rock all night long quit lookinggggg. This is it. I have the Eerie dess swirl paint color and if it does not work as a guitar wich it will never happen it could work as a Paint decoration for your living room.
