Overview

The Jackson Kelly KE-3 Electric Guitar 2008 model has an edgy body design and shark fin inlays that make a bold statement with looks alone. But this rocker is a sonic flamethrower too. The 2008 Jackson KE3 Kelly guitar features genuine Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups: a Jazz SH2N at the neck and a JB TB4 at the bridge for lots of firepower and sustain. The JT580LP tremolo lets you bend and twist notes to the max while staying in tune.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

Features
  • Unique alder body design
  • Bolt-on maple neck
  • Rosewood compound radius (14" to 16") fingerboard
  • Shark fin fretboard inlays
  • 24 jumbo frets
  • Seymour Duncan Jazz SH2N neck pickup
  • Seymour Duncan JB TB4 humbucker bridge pickup
  • 3-way toggle pickup selector

Beautiful Guitar

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is beautiful. It has a nice slim neck similiar to the Ibanez's and also is very comfortable to play while sitting and standing. It has easy access to the higher frets and is a dream to play. The trem staying perfectly in tune and the pups have a nice bite to them. The only thing i didnt like about the guitar is that the high E string is a little close to the edge of the fretboard, making pulloffs more difficult. Other than that, this guitar is definatly worth the money.

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

The jackson kelly guitar is an all round awesome guitar. I played some Avenged sevenfold and some bullet for my valentine on it and it goes hard. You can get an awesome amount of distortion from the seymore duncan humbukers that really rip out harmonics i would play this guitar over any other axe.

Killer Explorer-esque Guitar!

By Still_Lovin_Ibanez

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I tried a used Jackson Kell KE3 at guitar center today. The body is incredibly lightweight, yet manages to pack a powerful punch. The neck was super fast. I had fun with the trem, but it didn't thrill me that much. I was able to play some slipknot and helmet on it and it sounded sick. I even managed to play some of "Hollow" by pantera. It's definitely a good guitar, but i'd much rather take a RR5 Rhoads or an Ibanez SZ than the Kelly.

flamethrower

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Ok well i bought this guitar used because of how fast the neck was, also i like the compound-radius fretboards. The pickups just weren't hot enough because i only use this guitar for solo work so i swapped the bridge with a screamin' demon to get the job done. Alot of people say don't get a floyd rose they never stay in tune, well first off you have to learn about setting the tension and thats it i only tune this thing once a week if that. the only problem i have with this guitar is that the headstock dives when standing but for the kind of playability it has it's definately woth it.

Beast Guitar

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

After alot of contemplation, I decided to go with this guitar, and have yet to regret my decision. Some people say the jazz pickup is cheap, but I love it for the leads, its really fun with a nice flanger. The distortion, is amazing, i can play everything from Queen to Zeppelin to Megadeth on this baby. The frets are nice and smooth as well, and the trem is just hours of fun, with no reprecussions. The only bad thing about this guitar, is that the upper fin will feel very awkward to you at first, if you havent played an Explorer shaped guitar before, or if your buying this and you used to play a strat (this guitar dosnt have that little nook for your arm). Also, its a bit heavy. Honestly though, after a couple of weeks of playing it, those two dont even matter anymore, and if the first one really bothers you, just stand and play! Overall, if your on the fence with the Jackson KE3, go ahead and buy it!

Great Guitar

By Minime003

Comments about Jackson KE3 Kelly Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This is my second guitar. I have had it for a little more than a year now and decided it was time to give jackson some credit for it. It is an overall comfy guitar to play. Personaly i really like its neck. It is thin and smooth, which works very well with my small hands. The pickupts on it are very high quality. The bottom one is good for Metal, Rock etc.. and the top one is exeptional for jazz (even though the guitars look doesnt fit it) It is a great price for what you get. It is the kind of guitar were you say, "im never gunna need another guitar" and the only reason you do get another is because you just want a different looking guitar. Other then that it is great, i have tried out some really nice guitars and this one fits right up there. The only thing i dislike about it is when i have to change strings... its a pain with the lock ins "not to make the lock ins sound bad"
