Great Bass for a great price!

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Bass with Quilted Maple Top:

I bought this bass 5 months ago, and love every bit of it. Great sound, great feel, and the quilted maple looks even better in person. The bass is overall an easy bass to play, and the pickups, as well as the onboard eq sound fantastic.

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Bass with Quilted Maple Top:

I have played Fenders, Squires, Washburns, Epiphones, and a few lesser known manufacturers 4 strings. I bought the Jackson JS3VQM as my first 5 string. The construction is good, really good for the price. The pickups are alright. The setup was acceptable, but I will adjust it a little to suit me. I like the feel of the neck, and I usually prefer the feel of a fender.
If you are trying out a 5 string and aren't sure about committing to it, this is a great bass to experiment with.

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Bass with Quilted Maple Top:

This is really a super nice bass for this price and beyond. I've owned many basses, to include other import Jacksons. However, this one is really great. The neck width, depth, inlays, and binding are very well done. The top and back are great looking. The pickups are not that hot and do not have the dynamic range of a German made Warkwick or US Ernie Ball, but they are solid and easily adjustable. This is the first bass that I could actually lower the action to super low via the bridge without getting all crazy about the bridge and saddles. With that said, I did have to actually level out 5 frets along the board to get the notes to play evenly and cleaning over the entire fret board. Now this bass truly smokes with an amazing action and it rivals everything else I own. Certainly well worth the money regardless and certainly worth a couple hours of my time fine tuning a few frets.

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Bass with Quilted Maple Top:

I play in a three piece Rock Band as well as a five piece Rock Band. This is my favorite bass to play period. It's a monster but make sure to but extra long strings, the standard long scale are too short.
