I just bought this guitar at the Guitar Center, although is an used one. Considering the price it was displayed, i thought it was such a great deal. This model gives you sustain(EMG pick ups), tune stability and metal look attitude(reverse headstock). It stays in tune almost perfectly(FR performance) and it has a very fast action(thin neck). Perfect for those who love to play hard rock or metal categories. Shred all day long with this guitar!

ok overall i am not too impressed with this guitar. when i was in the store playing it, it was fine. how ever when i got mine at home it was a huge disappointment. there are multiple buzzing frets, the pickups give an overall dull sound, and my high E string is barely picked up. This would be a decent guitar if it didn't have those problems ( the action on it is pretty good and the floyd rose is awesome) but i'm going to have to take it to the GC to get it looked at

DXM-G Style

By Michael Fowler

from Monaca Hotel

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

Overall it is a great guitar. Impressed with how well it stays in tune and the quality of the gig bag that came with it.

A couple complaints: I ordered the guitar in black, it came in gun metal grey even though it said blk on the box. Also the action was way to high. This guitar should have been ready to shred right out of the box. No manual came with this guitar. My Epiphone Les Paul Standard came packaged much nicer than this guitar along with a manual. All in all though I would highly recommend this guitar and love it.
There is plenty of room on the fret board and the enough frets to make any shredder happy. The stock EMG pick ups sounds great, even clean. The shark fin position markers are very classy and overall the guitar is just built for metal. The floyd rose licensed tremelo is great as well.
So far I haven't had any problems. This guitar is flawless. I had an ESP KH 202 which is a lemon compared to this. Jackson equals quality. Love it. What impresses me the most about this guitar is how well it stays in tune. Everyone knows having a floyd rose can be a pain when it comes to turning and putting strings on. I was amazed at how quickly it tuned up and when i was done playing an hour later it was still in tune. I have had a Charvel and an ESP guitar before with floyd rose tremelo systems and they did not stay in tune or were as easy to tune as the DXMG.
This is a lot to spend on a guitar especially with the economy being in shambles but I can't complain. Anything thing that I was very impressed with is the Jackson gig bag that came with the guitar. I was expecting something cheesy like wrappying your guitar in a piece of saran wrap. Not so. The Jackson gig bag is very high quality and impressive. It's so good, I'm going to hold off on getting a hard shell case for now. I won't change cases unless I start playing out.

DXMG

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is great for live performances and can be used in certain studio situations when micing up this guitar i recomend useing two microphones to get a supper fat sound as oposed to the flat 2d sound you may get from haveing passive pickups trying to recreate the sound of active pickups.
The Floyd Rose Can let it down a bit but that just may be becuase i find Floyd Roses abit tedious and time consuming but over all this jackson is lovely to play and can be used in a varity of genras.
the build quality is verry nice providing a light enough body to preform with and a stable enough build quality to alow for a fantastic tone
Again the Jackson Floyd Rose lets the guitar down and changing the pickups is not at all a bad idea as the EMG Hz's can sound a bit 2D

Nice Guitar

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

I picked up this guitar used, having no previous experience with Jackson. It ended up being well worth the money. As a guitar teacher, I need a reliable axe that I can depend on. This guitar is just that. It stays in tune for months on end. Usually I only have to adjust with the fine tuners. I use a Peterson strobe tuner too, so that is saying a lot! I have owned Ibanez, LTD, etc. But they haven't had quite the tuning stability this guitar does. Those who aren't used to a Floyd Rose trem. may have problems getting it adjusted or doing string changes. Take it to a professional...EMG passive pickups provide lots of metal bite. Could be upgraded to actives for even more. I like the fast thin neck too which is somewhat similar to Ibanez Wizard necks in my opinion. Very pleased with this guitar!

Absolutely Incredible Guitar!

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely incredible. This was my first guitar that I got and I also have a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser and an LTD EC-401VF and I love to play Megadeth, Times of Grace, Dream Theater and jazz solos (and a lot of shred stuff i.e. Paul Gilbert) and this guitar is perfect for all of them! The action is better than any other guitars I have and the neck makes shredding VERY simple compared to my other two guitars. I switched the EMGs to a SH-1 and a SH-6 and this guitar is unstoppable. The tremolo system is great and is amazing for dive bombs and pretty much anything with a whammy. I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone who loves to shred and is looking for a great guitar for a good price.

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

this guitar is cool because its made in japan as opposed to taiwan or china and it kinda looks like its made in japan. playability is great but it probably cant handle a few drops like a strat can. floyd rose is kinda a pain but i wanted at least one keeper guitar with one! jackson been around a long time has good rep for quality products that shred.

Get new pickups for this guitar.

By Terry Benton Jr

from Portsmouth, Virginia

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

I've had my DXMG for around 3-4 years now and it's been great, though the sustain on this guitar isn't the greatest, it still serves it's purpose. I'd recommend it for any type of musical genre, but wouldn't suggest it for sustain or the stock pickups. The EMG HZ set that comes stock with this guitar are not all that great in my opinion, they don't have a very high output, I would definitely recommend getting a new set of pickups, I'd recommend the Seymour Duncan Blackouts set, if you want a EMG type look but with great sound, or the set I use is the Duncan Hot-Rodded Humbucker set. All in all I would definitely recommend this guitar.

For the money it's a great purchase

By Bee Bee

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

First things first, try to find this guitar used. You'll save yourself at least $200. If you're looking for a good guitar to serve you deepest, darkest metal desires, but don't want to drop a grand, this is the guitar for you. I picked mine up for around $300 and get a ton of value out of it for that price. Even though it's a licensed floyd rose (compared to an original) the guitar stays in tune and the EMG HZ, although not as nice as the traditional active EMG 81/85's, provide a great metal sound. If you have the right amp (or pedal), can learn how to properly string a floyd rose, and are willing to get your guitar set up if you can't do it yourself, you'll be plenty happy with your purchase.
