I just bought this guitar at the Guitar Center, although is an used one. Considering the price it was displayed, i thought it was such a great deal. This model gives you sustain(EMG pick ups), tune stability and metal look attitude(reverse headstock). It stays in tune almost perfectly(FR performance) and it has a very fast action(thin neck). Perfect for those who love to play hard rock or metal categories. Shred all day long with this guitar!

ok overall i am not too impressed with this guitar. when i was in the store playing it, it was fine. how ever when i got mine at home it was a huge disappointment. there are multiple buzzing frets, the pickups give an overall dull sound, and my high E string is barely picked up. This would be a decent guitar if it didn't have those problems ( the action on it is pretty good and the floyd rose is awesome) but i'm going to have to take it to the GC to get it looked at

Jackson dxmg is great for shred/tremelo begginers.

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

i bought this guitar around 2003 & i don't think there is a difference with the year, its the same thing. Be certain you can correctly change strings with the licensed floyd. You cant flutter with the the licensed floyd and the tuning periodically will drop or raise slightly in pitch because there is no tuning mechanism such as the original floyd. This guitar has no sustain! the neck EMG HZ & basswood work to deliver warm cleans although the bridge pickup could use a little more Ummmffff for music that requires harsh distortion.Hope this helps!

    Great guitar

    By HungryMan

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar last year at G.C., and its one of my favorite guitars. Out of all my guitars my jackson is the most balance. The Emg Hz are very quite, has good clarity, and sound great with distortion. The jacksons tremolo system is actually really good, it stay's in tune great after bends and dive bombs. It aslo has a nice thin neck, and its very light weight. Great guitar for any style..

    solid peice of work

    By Austin

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar has been amazing since i bought it. The super thin neck allows you to fly up and down the fret board at super sonic speed. The floyd rose has been good to me. It was a pain in the begining because I didn't know how to properly change strings. After a few youtube videos, I was an expert on the tremolo. Along with buying this guitar, i had to buy a metric alan wrench. The floyd rose uses a 3mm alan wrench. Don't be an idiot like me and use a pair of plyers to change strings the first time. I've never regreted buying this guitar. I love it. (and 10 guage elixer strings sound amazing on this guitar.)

    Dude, where's my axe?

    By Kyle

    from Stanley, NC

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is HOT! I got it for christmas '08 and can't keep away from it at all. It screams metal, even with passive pu's it rocks. My bass teacher showed me how to tune the FR, as i got better at it i decided to tune to baritone (BEADF#B). Guess what? I got it nearly perfectly level and my bass teacher was amazed, btw this is my first FR so i was amazed too. In retrospect i couldn't have gotten a better guitar for the price and for my needs. I play what i describe as a mix of Slayer and Fear Factory. The FR for the squeadlies and the long taught neck for LOW tunings. BUY THIS JAXESON AND CUT OFF SOME HEADS, word!

For the money it's a great purchase

    By Bee Bee

    from CA

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

First things first, try to find this guitar used. You'll save yourself at least $200. If you're looking for a good guitar to serve you deepest, darkest metal desires, but don't want to drop a grand, this is the guitar for you. I picked mine up for around $300 and get a ton of value out of it for that price. Even though it's a licensed floyd rose (compared to an original) the guitar stays in tune and the EMG HZ, although not as nice as the traditional active EMG 81/85's, provide a great metal sound. If you have the right amp (or pedal), can learn how to properly string a floyd rose, and are willing to get your guitar set up if you can't do it yourself, you'll be plenty happy with your purchase.

    This axe kills

    By Jdog the marshall hogg

    from san anselmo ca

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

this guitar is sweeeeeet the emgs kill and the tremolo is sweet for maximizing harmonics and getting the dimebag squeal, however the locking neck tuners can be a bit of a pain to lock and unlock overall this guitar kills, especially if you play it through a marshall

    Strongly recommended!!

    By Dan

    from California

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

I've had my Jackson for about a month now. I am really glad I purchased it. The guitar came to my door well packaged. It took a couple of minutes to tune it. This was due to the Rose Floyd locking tremolo. But, it is worth the patience. Once I started playing it, I knew I'd made a great purchase. The EMG's hold the sustain beautifully. It holds a crunch, chords sound real clean, and solos also sound great. The neck is real fast. This is a professional guitar at an low price...really worth the money. Only one draw back. As with all Rose Floyd locking tremolos, don't buy this guitar if you tone down your guitar often They all hard to get to the point you want them. Of course this is due to the variation of tension in the strings. Adjust one string, and the whole bridge slightly changes. I have other guitars that don't have Rose Floyd tremolos so they are easier to tone down. Anyways, strongly recommended, great value.

    Very nice...

    By HungeryMan

    from New Haven CT

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is nice, and it feels great. Once u get use to the tuning system of the floyd rose, it never goes out of tune. I can go real deep with my dive bombs, and it stay's in tune. (Luv it) I kinda got spoiled with it never going out of tune, so when i pick up my les paul, i start to cry because i gotta tune it. lol The emg-hz pick ups r better than i thought, and they seem to luv distortion pedals and tube amps. It probably should of cost more, but i think its a great guitar for my broke people tryin to save some cash. (Like me)

    Incredible

    By Nate

    from Cleveland, Ohio

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is incredible. I have been playing for twelve years and it is by far one of the best guitars i have ever played. The tremolo is at the top of its class and it has a great metal sound. It also has a great clean tone. This is a metal guitar by classification but i think the sound it produces could be used under any category.

Get new pickups for this guitar.

    By Terry Benton Jr

    from Portsmouth, Virginia

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

I've had my DXMG for around 3-4 years now and it's been great, though the sustain on this guitar isn't the greatest, it still serves it's purpose. I'd recommend it for any type of musical genre, but wouldn't suggest it for sustain or the stock pickups. The EMG HZ set that comes stock with this guitar are not all that great in my opinion, they don't have a very high output, I would definitely recommend getting a new set of pickups, I'd recommend the Seymour Duncan Blackouts set, if you want a EMG type look but with great sound, or the set I use is the Duncan Hot-Rodded Humbucker set. All in all I would definitely recommend this guitar.

    Absolutely Incredible Guitar!

    By Chris

    from Houston, Texas

Comments about Jackson DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely incredible. This was my first guitar that I got and I also have a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser and an LTD EC-401VF and I love to play Megadeth, Times of Grace, Dream Theater and jazz solos (and a lot of shred stuff i.e. Paul Gilbert) and this guitar is perfect for all of them! The action is better than any other guitars I have and the neck makes shredding VERY simple compared to my other two guitars. I switched the EMGs to a SH-1 and a SH-6 and this guitar is unstoppable. The tremolo system is great and is amazing for dive bombs and pretty much anything with a whammy. I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone who loves to shred and is looking for a great guitar for a good price.
