Overview

The Jackson DKMGT 2008 model has a sleek, sculpted string-through alder body with a carved top and flamed maple veneer for classic Dinky electric guitar style. EMG 81 humbucker and the bridge and EMG 85 humbucker pickup at the neck crank out crunchy rhythms and soaring leads. It also has a bolt-on rock maple neck with a bound, compound radius rosewood fretboard; MOTO piranha fingerboard inlays; and a string-thru body bridge.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

more than metal

By Jared

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

good for heavy music and those chugging riffs we all love so much but it can do more. sounds great for punk and awesome clean tones. especially with a little reverb while using the neck pickup. this was a great upgrade from a squier strat. sound quality between the 2 guitars is like night and day. i'll be playing this exclusively from now on. worth every penny. do it do it!!

BEST SHREDDING GUITAR

By Adam_AWHITEDSEPULCHER

from Apopka, FL

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar for my birthday about 9 months ago, having played out of a Epiphone Les Paul Standard with a Cherry Sunburst Flame-top(I do not recommend that guitar). The DKMGT is one amazing guitar if you have it intonated and set up correctly. It never goes out of tune, the neck is nice and smooth which allows smooth scale, mode, and sweep transitions, the EMG's sound incredible, and the overall tone, distortion or not, is beautiful. I definitely recommend this guitar to any advanced or intermediate guitarist.

One of 5 Jacksons...

By inky she dinky

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I own several Jacksons, a Performer ps4, Dx10 dinky, Js30, Jackson soloist, and also the DKMGT! My least favorite is my JS30, my 1st was the Performer Ps4. I got the DKMGT for drop D tuning songs, this guitar is awesome, I value my soloist the most but I enjoy playing the DKMGT more! even with the bolt on neck it is an incredibly fast guitar and the EMG's are thick! I perform in a glamrock 80's band and the Jacksons not only look the part but with the right pup's they sound the part. Nothing beats the love I have for my Soloist but the DKMGT is no ugly redheaded step sister either!

Tone King

By Jsun Cohrs

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I've owned this guitar for 2 years now and I still play it as my primary... I have varrious LTD's (which are amazing) But the Jackson's tone is unsurpassed... And I don't rip leads I'm just talkin about strait chunk riffs that will rearrange your facial structure.. The active EMG's provide an eveness throughout every string along with the crisp tone, this is a metal riffers dream... I tune to drop c and every note can be heard. Between Silence and Screams

I'm Addicted To This Guitar

By LiveWire

from Boston, MA

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I've been playing for about 8 years now and this guitar is a pleasure to play. I've had an ESP V-250 for years and enjoyed that guitar but wanted something more. This guitar has amazing tone from the EMG-81/85 pickups and after some minor equalizing on my amp I've got the heavy metal distorted sound as well as the clean jazzy sound that I love. I play many styles and this guitar plays them all. I definitely consider my purchase a major upgrade from my previous guitar and couldn't be happier. Not only does it sound great, but it looks great too; I can't wait to play this guitar in front of people. The only downside I find is that the neck is a bolt on, but I forget about that as soon as I start playing. Play this guitar and you will want it. Quick Summary - Awesome, versatile tone Easy to play, I think I actually play better Looks great (the transparent black finish on the flamed maple looks amazing) You will become addicted

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I own this guitar and as many would say it is a shred machine. This guitar is something special ftom its awesome inlays to its sweet active pickups. As many would say there is no better guitar for metal unless you know its about 1,000 dollars more with the same great pickups from EMG

I played this guitar once at this store, and it sounds great. Problem is its a little expensive, but with a Vox Valvetronics amp, I reccomend it to anyone.

Screaming Guitar

By Jofan

from Racine, WV

Comments about Jackson DKMGT Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is a must have. I picked up the DKMGT a few months ago, and all of my other guitars have just been collecting dust. I cannot put this guitar down. The EMG pick-ups are in my opinion the greatest for distortion, but don't just think they are great at a distorted tone. They do quite well at a clean tone as well. For the structure of the guitar itself. The lack of a tremolo isn't really a bad thing, since the strings stay in tune much longer. Overall this is a great deal, Jackson always make killer guitars.
