Overview

The Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar is both a looker and a screamer with Seymour Duncan pickups and flashy finishes. The DK2S features Duncan's Sustainiac Driver/pickup in the neck position, STK-1 Single-Coil mid, and their JB TB4 in the bridge position. The alder body is fitted with a shred-eriffic rock maple neck and a bound compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Transparent finish models have a stunning flamed maple top. A scalloped heel means uninhibited access to the upper frets, while a Floyd Rose double-locking trem lets you dive as deep as you want. A deluxe Jackson molded case by SKB comes with the package to protect your investment and keep it looking good.

Sustainiac vibrates the strings to produce intense, predictable, controllable feedback-sustained notes at any volume.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

After a month that I had this guitar,I can now gives a good review.First of all it made in japan.second it comes with a SKB case, most brand you got to spend over $1200+tax that comes with a case.Jackson did it under $800 bucks.Third this guitar can doing every style of music you name it.The sustain and harmonic switch is awesome. Its a great arsenal to use when I need that special sound to make that great impact on type of music I'm playing.I've had different brand of guitars in my collection to Fender strat,Ibanez RG and S-Series,to Gibson LP & SG.They are all great guitars but they are limited what I have in mine (my playing style). The jackson DK2S is more versatile in my style, its my main axe now.I use it with my Bogner Spider III amp with footswitch or with my Spider Jam. I have more fun with this guitar then all my guitars combine. For this price get it soon. And don't take my words for it,try one, play one Oh! heck just go get one.

I had seen these demoed on youtube, seen the sustainiac site, and wanted to try one. Guitar Center never has them in stock though, so I had to order one, knowing they've got the 30-day return period. I got it home, plugged it in, and was underwhelmed by the sustainer. It worked, sometimes, for some notes. Others it did nothing for. The harmonic settings were more likely to trigger on unmuted low strings than on higher strings I was actually playing. When the sustainer is off, it works like an active pickup. The problem with this is that you then have one active and two passive pickups - not a good combination in my opinion. I couldn't find anything really bad about it, but for the price, I couldn't justify it and returned it. I think I'd be just as happy with a standard dinky without the sustainiac, without spending as much.

I'm so glad that I bought this guitar.

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

I've been playing close to 30 years in just about every genre of music that you can imagine. Jackson is one of the best guitars I have ever owned.
It's a great medium grade guitar. The neck speed is good, the action was a little high when I got it so I set it up the way I like to play. The Sustainiac has opened up a plethora of different sounds that leave a lot of other local guitarists speechless
I have owned, and played this guitar on stage for two years and have had only two malfunctions. One was with the bridge somehow messing up,it took a guitar wizard to figure it out and I still have no clue exactly what happened. The other problem I had was that the sustainer is grounded through it's volume knob(the knob furthest back). The knob had become loose enough that the sustainer would not work...simple fix.
This has been a true pleasure to own and play.Roll the volume back on the single coils with the amp in overdrive and it cleans up pretty nicely.I would definitely buy this one again.

DK2S Rocks!!!

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

Great guitar. Glad I bought it. The Sustainiac is really fun to play with. The guitar is really easy to play. Almost too easy. I have to learn to play a bit cleaner now. The strings are low to the neck but not low enough to create buzz. The Duncans that come with the guitar are pretty good. I don't think I will replace them. I wish they still offered the guitar in see-through black but it looks like they are just selling red and black now. I got a black one and it shows tons of finger prints. My only grip about the guitar is that I don't think the Floyd Rose tremolo returns to zero correctly. I may need to do some adjustments to get it right.

I wish I could give a better review

By Tom Axe

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

Ok, first this is not a high end guitar. It is not priced like one either but I own a USA KE-2 Kelly I would never part with, it is of so much higher quality there is no comparison. The Sustainiac feature works like it is supposed to, it is a great idea and you can hold a note all day long without any decay until the battery runs out. The problem is that if you play a note on one string and then move on to another note you need to somehow stop that string from ringing. This gets in the way of my playing so it just doesnt work for me. If you try one and can make it work great, you get true sustain, I cant. The guitar has a bolt on neck with plastic inlays. It plays ok and the floyd rose copy trem is not bad. The finish is fine. The bridge pickup is not great but that can be easily swapped to something better. The real issues I have with this guitar is the sustainiac not being usable and without that you just have a pretty low grade guitar. If there were a momentary switch on a foot pedal to control the sustainiac then that feature would be the best sustainer there is...but it doesnt. I would suggest spending your money on a better quality guitar, there are lots of them out there. If you want a Jackson great save up the money and get a USA model. Otherwise for 800 bucks you can get a pretty nice guitar, much better quality, neck through, good pickups. It won't have a Sustainiac but it will be a vastly better quality guitar.

Poor Service

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

Great guitar. I bought this as a return stock item. They did not give me a case. had no instructions. Gave me the wrong colored trem arm. Came in a very flimsy box. Emailed them and they told me that I should have got a case with it, but have not heard from them in 5 days.

Most Insane Guitar Ever!!!

By Matt

from New York, NY

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

This guitar is insane!!! The TB-4 is pretty versatile, though when I buy the guitar I am going to change it just for my playing style. I liked this guitar because it reminded me of the more expensive Jackson models, but at a significantlly lower price. What's more, the Sustainiac is complete insanity! It makes the guitar perfect for metal or anything in which you might need an ebow. Just go buy one today.

I OWN I LOVE YOU WILL TOO!

By Scott Networks

Comments about Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar w/ Sustainiac:

Just got this today in Black. I took it out of the box and was completely blown away just by the case. The case alone must cost enough to be the best case I have ever seen. I opened the case and it was just beautiful, black on black. I plugged it in tuned it, adjusted pickups and tremelo and have been playing non stop ever since. Perfect for Dokken Songs or Satriana anything if you want ever lasting sustain with or without harmonics. BUY THIS GUITAR BEFORE THE PRICE GOES UP!
