Overview

The Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar is the 2008 model and sports a Seymour Duncan JB TB4 humbucker (bridge)and a
Seymour Duncan Jazz SH2N humbucker (neck) mounted on a sleek alder body for plenty of warm, chunky tone. The shred-eriffic rock maple neck sports a bound compound-radius maple fretboard. A scalloped heel means uninhibited access to the upper frets, while a Floyd Rose double-locking trem lets you dive as deep as you want.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

Thats right, I have 17 guitars 9 are Jacksons, I went into Guitar Center to by another Marshall amp & ask to play this guitar. It plays faster then my Jackson Soloist, is more accessible for fast playing. The Maple fingerboard had me flying through my appegios, I am going to trade in my soloist because it does not allow me to play as fast as this Metal Monster. By the way Seymour Duncans have never let me down, this Jackson is no different, the Duncan pickups have power & that warm heavy sound without clogging up like some other famous brands due. I had all kinds of problems with this guitar. The neck was sitting in the neck pocket slanted(the high e side was high)where you could visibly see the slant. The trem bar would not tighten down and would come loose constantly. The action was sky high from the factory and when I tried tom lower the trem studs, the metal was so cheap the screws wanted to strip. I also had a popping noise when I pulled up or down on the trem coming from the nut. I can't believe Jackson is doing any type of quality control, these problems should have been caught at the factory, especially the neck sitting crooked in the neck pocket. Make sure you check the neck if you get one as I have read about other people having the same problem with their Jackson.

Amazing Guitar

By Pha-Q

from Lewisville, TX

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is amazing. My favorite thing about this guitar is that the neck allows your hand to just glide. Playing on it feels good. Solos are easily done on this guitar. It also has some Seymour Duncan humbuckers that sound pretty nice. The neck p-up is good for some nice clean sounds, and the bridge p-up is good for metal. The price is well worth it if your looking for a good guitar but don't want to go overboard.

Great Guitar

By Luis Ardila

from Palm Harbor, FL

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This is a Great Guitar as my title says it. And a great price too. The seymour duncans deliver extroadinary tone and the floyd rose is amazing. This baby has it all. And its so versatile it plays all types of music. I play mostly all types of rock but I also like to play blues and it gives me a great bluesy tone too. And it looks so rad. I mean look at it, it looks as it plays. And the fretboard is so smooth. As if it was scalloped. Im not sure if it is. But man If you like hard rock, metal, or anything like that. Thig is the guitar for you. P.S. White looks the best in person. trust me.

Jackson DK2M is for shredders!!

By Technique Master

from Texas

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

The first time I tried this guitar at the store I felt very comfortable with it as if I was used to it from a long time. With this guitar you only need to apply a minimum force to the fret board when playing speed, allowing you to approach all the technique you have worked for. The locking system really works if you actually tie it right keeping the guitar in tune for days. I highly doubt there is a better guitar at this price for any shredder or soloist.

Shred Behemoth!!

By PuppetMaster417

from Chicago

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I've owned and played nothing but Jackson guitars, this guitar blows even the most expensive soloist out of the water. The maple neck is very comfortable and low action bends are flawless. I had a DXMG in black and since day one i've had nothing but problems, this thing replaced both my DXMG and my Rhoads. I will probably replace the licenced trem for and original floyd rose, but either way it stays in tune and floats well. The alder body gives it a nice warm tone with the stock pickups and no need to change them. I have the white one and it compelled me to get another one in black.

Great Guitar

By -SpudS-

from United States

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

this guitar is sick. I got it a few months back and it is still doing great. The pickups sound great with distortion or without. The action is good and the floyd rose is fun to mess around with. The finish (mine is white) looks really great. over all i am very pleased with this Jackson. my only complaint is that its difficult to have heavy gauge string because they lift the floyd rose up, making the action like and inch high

amazing guitar

By James

from South Carolina

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar several months ago and it by far is the best guitar I have ever had. I love playing it. The seymour duncans are the best and the maple fretboard is just pure eye candy. It is beautiful. The only thing I have against it is the floyd rose. I like changing the tuning of my guitar dramatically and it becomes a hassle when you have to undo the tune guards or whatever you call them to change the tuning from standard tuning to CGCFAD. Overall great guitar I just wish it had more tuning freedom. 5 stars.

Amazing guitar

By Jeff

from Seminole, Florida

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I got this guitar about a month ago, and wow! I've been an Ibanez player for a few years now, but bought my first Jackson, an rr3, about 6 months ago. This guitar blew me away. It was my first time playing on a maple fretboard, and now my rosewood Ibanez and Rhoads feels dry and rough to me. Anyone interested in this guitar, I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. The Floyd isn't bad either, although I have an OFR on the way to swap out, just to be safe when I play shows. I had to set it up myself unfortunately, as I use a different string gauge, but that was simple. The guitar plays extremely well, and the pickups scream. However, I did raise the SH-2 in the neck a bit, to get more bite from it. The JB is an amazing pickup. I've used SH-8s, EMGs, and an SH-6 especially for awhile, and the JB blows them all away. The guitar was built extremely well, which has always made me feel comfortable dealing with Jackson, even on import models. I've gigged with it, and it handled beautifully. Amazing guitar, especially for the price. Buy it now!
