Overview

The Jackson 2008 DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar is both a looker and a screamer with Seymour Duncan STK-1s in the neck/mid and a Duncan JB in the bridge position and flashy finishes. Blue orange flame model is hand-painted and signed by the artist--an unheard-of feature in a guitar at this price. The alder body is fitted with a shred-eriffic rock maple neck and a bound compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Transparent finish models have a stunning flamed maple top. A scalloped heel means uninhibited access to the upper frets, while a Floyd Rose double-locking trem lets you dive as deep as you want.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

Its all about the neck

By BobNat

from PA

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

The dk2 is not unlike other Jackson's in respect to quality. The Jackson neck is the best - period. I can only tell you that with any Jackson, when you wrap your hand around the neck you immediately sense quality. The guitar is well balanced weight. The guitar pickups are very good but like any economy minded guitar - for professional recording the pickups may need to be considered. Pro Hardware bridge, neck and tremolo. Overall you will fall in love with the neck. I have heard a higher end Jsckson with the same body and it is excellent for metal, rock, jazz and blues. Most of all I repeat it is the wonderfull neck of a Jackson you need to experience.

Awesome Guitar!

By Phatwon

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This is a great guitar for all genres of music. It can go from jazz and blues to crunchy metal! Good quality and workmanship, but still not as good as a USA made Jackson.

AMAZING

By Guitared

from Missouri

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is awsome. The pick-ups have a one of a kind sound. The best part of this guitar is the neck. It is great. It is so good it is hard to even discribe it. The action on the Floyd Rose is set very low on mine and it doesnt buzz at all. The only down fall is changing the strings, but it gets easier once you get used to it, (if you dont already have a Floyd Rose). I have had mine since Febuary. I havent had any problems. Amazing guitar. Great buy.

Nice Axe!

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I just got this guitar and dollar for dollar it blows away anything else I tried. I got it home and changed the strings right away. I hate cheap strings! After that I tuned it up and played for 2 hours. What a fun axe and sounds good too. I would have rated it higher, but there were sharp edges on the frets all the way down the neck, the input jack was soldered like garbage, giving me an intermittent open circuit. These are minor things, but should be given more attention at the factory. Still it is a solid gitter!

Great shredding guitar

By ItalyunStallion

from Mount Prospect, IL

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is good for all types of music wether it's a more blues sound or heavy metal it works great and performs well. The Floyd Rose system rarely goes out of tune. The single coil pickups can be a little noisy sometimes but it's not that big of a deal. The thing I like about it is that it has 24 jumbo frets and the fretboard at the bottom where you play ur chords is more rounded sou you can wrap your hand around it and at the top of the neck where you solo is flatter and wider. It's perfect to shred on and i would highly recommend it to some one who was looking for a versatile guitar.

Good, real good

By Shaun

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Picked this guitar up last weekend. I had always been interested in Jacksons, however, playing as off and on, didn't really want to spend the coin. Playing more often again, I decided to take the plunge. As someone stated, the neck is a dream, and makes playing a variety of styles seem that much smoother. The setup was good, really didn't need any adjusting, often times I find myself having to lower the action slightly, but this was good to go. The pick-up's sound quite good actually, and i was able to get a good range in tones. The trem is solid, and thus far I've experienced no problems with staying in tune despite using the guitar 2 hours per night. The finish was excellent, i got the transparent red, and i like it more and more everyday. Bottom line, great quality, excellent playability, good for multiple styles. And it's a Jackson......

This one goes to Eleven!

By Michael

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Just like the uniqueness of the Marshall Amp in "This is Spinal Tap" this Jackson is one of a kind and will give you the ability to rock till you drop! I have owned this guitar for about a year and it has surpassed all expectations!! I searched for over a year for a guitar that had all the features I wanted, within the budget that I had. Three things that delivered on this beast.. 1. The double locking tremolo. Dive and wammy the hell out of it and it's tuning won't budge. I still have the stings I put on it when I bought it and I have not had to re-tune it yet!! 11 months of play, no tuning! Awesome!!! 2. The Rock Maple Neck!! UNBELIEVABLE! As I said, I searched long and hard before picking this guitar, but NO other neck compares!! The unpainted maple is super fast and the thin radius makes chords and soloing a breeze. If I could custom a guitar, this neck would be my first choice without exception! 3. The unique 3 pickup (H/S/S) configuration which was rare at the time I purchased this. (Notice you see this configuration on many more guitars now!!) I switched out the Semour Duncans for Active EMG's and now she screams!! The 3 pick up allows for a WIDE variety of tone, from shred-metal to fat jazz to angelic clean!! As I said, 11 months and not a single issue with this guitar! I noticed the price has dropped noticeably as well!! Take my advice, pick up one today. You won't be disappointed!!

Comments about Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

i just got this guitar and i have nothing bad to say about it. the neck is amazingly fast and thin and the action is very low with no buzz. the standard Seymour Duncan pickups sound fantastic especially the JB. The floyd rose is great and stays in tune perfectly. I would highly recommend this to anyone into metal or "shredding"
