The "First Five" Rhoads features a poplar body with a maple neck-thru construction and Seymour Duncan Zebra pickups. It also has a rosewood fretboard with Mother-of-Pearl (MOP) Reverse Sharkfin Inlays and 22 small 6230 frets with ivoroid binding over the frets. To complete the picture, it has the Jackson compound radius neck, a Gold Metal Flake finish with the black hand-painted Jackson logo.

I found my 30th Anniversary RR5FR used in Guitar Center. It had some minor problems at first. The bridge was not set up correctly, there was a small chip on the body and some clear coat or something had chipped off part of the neck. Other than those few easily solved problems the guitar is a dream. The DiMarzios are super hot. I can get tons of crunch out of this guitar. The fretboard is a much higher quality of rosewood than that I've seen on some of my other guitars. The Floyd needs a little beefing up, but that's just by choice for it. It's incredibly fast and responsive making it truly a player's guitar as well as a gorgeous piece of art.
