Master design and craftsmanship with a neck-thru body for searing sustain.

If you're still looking for your sound, you'll find it with the Jackson RR1 Randy Rhoads Select Series Electric Guitar. The young master metal shredder never lived to see the mass production of this guitar, but he helped design and approved the prototype. Equipped with screamin' Seymour Duncan open humbuckers (an SH2 at the neck and TB4 at the bridge) and an original Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo, this guitar is designed specifically for the kind of sonic pyrotechnics its inimitable namesake made famous. Jackson's famous sharkfin mother-of-pearl inlays adorn a bound compound radius ebony fretboard mounted on a lightning-fast quartersawn maple neck that runs right through the sculpted alder body. Mother-of-pearl Jackson logo adds a touch of class to the bound headstock.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

  • As good as it gets!

As reviewed by Koto on 5/2/2009

Imagine you have just had a dream about playing a guitar that almost played itself. The notes rang out for days and you felt like a true rockstar. It is no dream... the guitar is the RR1 by Jackson. All other guitar companies would like to be able to build a guitar this fine but always fall short. There can be only one. Randy left a piece of him with us in this majestic weapon of sonic lethality and I personally thank him. The moment I started playing this amazing piece of fine craftmanship, I fell in love. I wouldn't even let the salesman hold it because I was afraid something terrible might happen. I gently put it in it's huge Jackson case that comes with it and brought it home. The pickups are exhilarating clean or dirty, breathing life into any amp. The bridge pickup is tight and punchy and the neck pickup is tonal nirvana with tons of vowel characteristic. The Floyd Rose is of course smooth and strong with amazing flutter ability and exceptional tuning stability. The neck is as smooth as silk and painted to match the body and headstock, and if you like Jackson necks, you will love the feel of this one! The electronics are top notch, tuners feel great, and the sharkfin inlays are classic. Make sure you get straplocks because you will never want to drop this amazing guitar, (even though it feels like you could beat someone to death with it and not even put a scratch on it) If you want THE ultimate guitar, buy one... or two! You will never regret it!!

  • One of the Best

As reviewed by Ted on 10/23/2006

The Jackson RR1 USA is one of the greatest guitars I have ever played. The neck plays so smooth, and the attack and sustain are incredible. This guitar produces some of the greatest metal/hard rock tones of any other guitar on the market. Anyone who plays rock/metal should own one of these. I run it through my marshall JCM 2000 triple super lead 100 and it sounds amazing. If you don't own one, buy one. If you don't have the money for one, start saving your money. I gurantee that once you pick it up you won't want to put it down.

  • The best Ive ever played

As reviewed by Don Brozz on 3/3/2011

Words cant come close to describing this guitar. You have to play one to truly appreciate it. The action, tone, finish and overall quality of this guitar far exceeds anything Ive ever owned or played. Including my Gibson Les Paul Custom. I use my RR1 for all types of music, from metal to blues, and though the guitar does excel at the heavier tones, it creates sweet blues tones effortlessly. If you're on the fence about purchasing one of these incredible guitars, find one locally and spend some time playing it. I assure you, all your doubts will be forgotten as soon as you plug in.
