A clean, cool look, great crunch and warm sustain.

The Jackson SLS3 Soloist electric guitar is a 24-fret no-nonsense neck-through-body monster. Its carved-top mahogany body is fitted with a shred-eriffic mahogany neck and a bound compound-radius ebony fretboard. This combination offers fast neck playability and rich, full-bodied sustain. It's powered by two genuine Seymour Duncan Zebra humbuckers—one in the bridge position, and one at the neck. The string-through-body bridge, sealed die-cast tuners, ivoriod binding, black hardware, and shark-eye inlays top it all off, making this guitar as rich in looks as it is in tone.

  • THIS IS A LEAD GUITAR

As reviewed by Dylan A on 8/24/2009

This guitar is very unique from other guitars I've played(Fender Strats,Ibanez RGs). The ebony fretboard is hard, which makes notes for leads more clear and standing out. When playing solos(for metal),shredding fast gives you the Yngwie Malmsteen tone. It may sound like Yngwie, but I wasn't too sure about the pickups with the warm, not-very-distorted sound. Since I play metal from many genres, I have to say that I recommend getting better pickups for metal players out there...But besides that this guitar is it, the one and only guitar for a true lead guitar player! The guitar is lightweight, comfortable to play, and thin. This guitar is OK for an intermediate player, but is mainly for advanced players who know what their going to do with their life...Play lead guitar!
