A fully armed, dressed-to-kill sustain machine!

The Jackson SL3 Soloist electric guitar features an alder body (with flame maple veneer on trans finishes), maple neck through body for amazing sustain, compound radius (14" to 16") rosewood fingerboard, Seymour Duncan JB humbucking (bridge) and Hot Rails (middle and neck) pickups, Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo and black hardware.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

Superb Axe

This guitar is simply breathtaking. I bought it in black. It's guaranteed to impress anyone who doesn't already own one. It's very sleek, powerful, and amazingly versatile. It's true that the Floyd Rose tremolo stays in tune extremely well. There is nothing like the neck of a Jackson guitar either. After playing on it for a couple of days, I picked up my Strat and played better! It's just that well made. The bridge pickups are phenomenal when distorted or clean, and the hotrails are extremely powerful. You can play any kind of music with this guitar. You can buy other solid body guitars, but they won't sound like a Jackson. There's just something about Jacksons that scream, crunch, and sustain better than any other. I've heard complaints about crackling volume pots and such, but that's easily fixed with a can of air spray. The only reason I didn't give this guitar a perfect rating is because the case is "optional." It should come with a case and a few Jackson logo stickers.

The Hard Rock/Metal Guitar

This guitar is great for playing hard rock/metal. The Seymour Duncan pickups create a thick sound that is hard to find on other guitars except from those like ESP models. The body is a little heavier than the average guitar body, and it employs a floyd rose bridge which is just a great addition. While it can be annoying to tune up a guitar with a floyd rose bridge, once its done it rarely gets out of tune and if it does there are fine tune knobs at the bottom that allow to adjust easily. The one and only complaint is the volume knob. This is why the quality score is 3.5. Others have had problems with it too - basically when you turn your volume up or down you would begin to hear a crackling noise. This is very bad for onstage performances where your amp volume is raised very high. The problem can be fixed by just replacing the volume knob, but it can be annoying and the problem can resurface if the job is not done correctly. Overall a great guitar to have for those playing the hard rock/metal genre.
