The X factor = fantastic tone, ultra-fast playability and unbelievable value.

New Jackson® X Series guitars are loaded with purebred Jackson DNA-hot humbucking pickups, bound compound-radius fingerboard with the distinctive shark-fin inlays, and stunning finishes. Classic Jackson models imbued with the X factor, with fantastic tone, ultra-fast playability and unbelievable value for 21st century guitarists.

The DKXT Dinky X Series has an archtop basswood body (quilted maple veneer on trans red finish), bolt-on maple neck, and passive EMG-HZ H4-AN (neck) and H4-B (bridge) humbucking pickups that deliver well-balanced tone with tight bass, glassy mids, and crunching highs. Its bound compound-radius rosewood fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. Other features include 24 jumbo frets and TonePros fully adjustable bridge with through-body strings for thick sustain. Case sold separately.

  • Buy it now so you can SHRED today! Upgrade pickups later.

As reviewed by John Mabasa on 3/26/2012

This guitar is almost perfect. Nice body, fast playing fret board. The guitar is beautiful. As for the sound, the sound is great. But it's just missing a bit of "umph" because of the passive pickups. Don't get me wrong though these have decent EMG passive pickups. But getting active EMG 81s will basically make this guitar perfect. Especially for playing metal. If you are one who is saving up for a nice guitar. You can wait a bit more and do nothing, or you can just buy this one and start playing right away. Then save a bit more to upgrade the pickups later. To be very honest with you though, I'm in no real rush to upgrade.

  • Great for a beginner

As reviewed by Drew Roper on 12/6/2012

First off, I'm somewhat of newbie. I learned basic chords in college years ago and then basically put my acoustic guitar down to collect dust. I just recently picked up the guitar again and wanted to buy a decent mid-range electric. I have also started taking lessons at my local shop. I was drawn to the Jackson line due to my love of hard rock & heavy metal. After trying several models, this one felt the most comfortable to practice with at home. I paired it with a Line 6 Spider IV. I absolutely love this guitar and find myself progressing at a very good rate. I have been playing it daily for the past 5 months. To me, it's easy to maneuver around the fret-board once you get the hang of it. I have zero complaints about this purchase.

I partnered this guit ar with Line 6 Spider IV and the sound was amazing! The neck felt comfortable and so were the frets. Perfect sound for heavy metal!
