Hot active pups and cool transparent finishes.

EMG-81 and 85 high-output humbuckers produce scorching tone while the compound-radius rosewood fretboard curves dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for wide bends without fretting out. Yank those notes right on up to ecstasy with the recessed-cavity, Floyd Rose-licensed double-locking tremolo system. Includes deluxe Jackson molded case by SKB.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

  • Amazing

As reviewed by David on 1/23/2011

I bought this guitar maybe a year ago and I love it. Floyd Roses are a pain but this thing stays in tune. The 2 different pickups give a wide variety of sound and through my old fender amp this thing is a monster. Very comfortable and balanced. I love this thing.

  • SURPRIZINGLY GREAT

As reviewed by Omar Asghar on 10/4/2009

I bought this at Guitarcenter.com on sale. I am an Ibanez player mainly. All Ibanez. The neck on the dkmg reminds me of the Ibanez jem series. Even though jackson is a compound radius neck. The guitar was well packed. In a sheet of synthetic packing wrap. Then In a very high quality SKB case with TSA approved latches. (better than my Ibanez cases). then in a cardboard box. and then paper packing and then a bigger cardboard box. So well packed. Arrived without any blemishes or flaws. Need a complete setup. The licensed bridge works ok but not as good as super high end ones. The craftsmanship is Super Excellent for the price. Even at non sale price still way better than the Korean version of Ibanez or even some Japanese one. I am not a USA guitar person (sorry). But I have this new respect for Jackson. The pickups sound very powerfull (through a line6 spider III 75 and Fender Hotrod Deluxe and Boss GT10. Still trying to get used to the fretboard and the neck which is still thicker than some of my ibanezes. But the feel is smooth, fretwork is flawless. Need to setup a bit more lower the bridge for even faster playing. This is the first guitar that I have ever changed strings on to a different guage and tuned to STD tuning very very quickly. I have to struggle with the Ibanezes. Floating trem stays pretty much in tune. All screws holding string pads were loose upon arrival. Intonation is almost ok out of factory. Neck relief needed adjustment. Once setup this is one great quality instrument. Light weight. Ligher than my Ibanez JS series and S even though the others are basswood. Did not know that Alder wood is even lighter. This guitar has great sustain. But if you listen closely you will hear the flaws of active pickups also. Loud on initial pick, sustain well and then cut off is rather abrupt. There is "high pass run off" (imo), which is what Satriani and Vai have in their guitars. From Chunky cruch, Insane metal, to clean Metallica with chorus effect. I am impressed. I have always leaned towards Ibanez JEM, JS, and RGs with their all access neck joints but this heel joint in the dkmg is not bad. I just wish I could find more time to play. You get more guitar for the price. I was going to give it 4 stars. But then I reviewed what i typed and I thought no, this is a 5. Recommended for rock, alt, all types of metal, for Intermediate to advance guitar players. And also for dedicated beginners (you will not need to upgrade again and again and waste money, buy one good instrument).
