Blends traditional virtues with modern refinements.

The Jackson CMG Concert Bass Guitar has an alder body with a bolt-on maple neck. It is equipped with EMG pickups and an active BEQ3 preamp for vast control of tone. The rosewood neck is especially easy to play with a compound radius of 12" to 14". It also features die-cast mini tuners, black hardware, shark fin inlays, and 22 jumbo frets.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better bass!

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • Very good quality, made in Japan

As reviewed by Will on 5/17/2010

I've owned this bass for about 10 months, and am extremely happy with it. The neck makes it almost effortless to play, but the only downfall is when tuning down the strings tend to flop against the fretboard if you're not careful. The EMGs are versatile, very clear (not muddy at all) and you can get a nice punchy sound when using only 1. Stays in tune and plays great.

  • Great Bass!

As reviewed by Dave on 5/19/2011

This bass guitar has the traditional Jackson head, and has the shark-tooth inlays on the fretboard. It has 5 EQ knobs that allow you to customize your sound. There's a 9-volt battery in the back compartment that powers the EQ. I've had the guitar for about a month now so I can't comment on how long the battery lasts. The sound is incredible. I play in a 80's rock cover band and I can use this guitar for almost anything. As standard with most Jacksons, this guitar is fast and easy to play. Not too heavy and not too light. It comes with a really nice gig bag, too. I wish Jackson would have made this in more colors besides 4 different types of black, but that's my only complaint. Mine is trans black - the most expensive one, but it's worth the extra money. Buy it - you will love it!

  • Get the new JS series instead...

As reviewed by David Wood on 9/19/2011

I'm the same guy that wrote the "Great Bass" review, and although I stand by that review, I would no longer recommend purchasing this bass. Jackson just released the new "JS" series of basses. They sound exactly the same as this bass, but for half the cost. Only difference is that they are made in India. I recently acquired the JS3V 5 string bass and I love it. I would not have purchased the CMG if I had known the JS series was coming out. Guitar Center is not listing the new series on their website, yet.
