Comments about JJ Electronics 6V6 Power Vacuum Tube:

JJ Tube replacing the original Fender tube in a 1978 Champ. Beautiful tone - nice and clean at lower volumes. Dime the amp with a TS9 and it sings.

    JJ 6V6

    By DAVID WOLFKILL

    from Iowa

Comments about JJ Electronics 6V6 Power Vacuum Tube:

I bought a used Fender Deluxe Reverb from GC that I new needed new tubes when I purchased it. I talked to a guitar amplifier manufacturer about the different tubes on the market and what tubes they recommend to my surprise they told me that in most cases you would not be able to hear the difference in the tubes that most of the voicing is in the amp so I bought new tubes and installed them then set the bias to factory spec the amp sounded great at this point but out of curiosity I tried different tubes in all positions I tried Tungsol, EH, GT, & JJ I had some friends over to listen as I changed the tubes out to see if we noticed any differences in the tubes the JJ 6V6 power tubes were the only tubes with any noticeable change they had a little of the 6L6 tube sound to them kind of a cross between the 6V6 & 6L6 the JJ's made this amp super clean if you like playing clean like I do I think you will really like the JJ 6V6's I own several tube amps and have even built a few this is the first time I have really noticed a big difference in tubes. Give them a try I think you will really like them.

    beefy tube

    By JB

Comments about JJ Electronics 6V6 Power Vacuum Tube:

My Fender Super Champ amp's power tubes did not last 15 hrs. before they were fried. If I were Fender, I would spend a few more bucks and put better tubes like these in the amp. The factory tubes become so hot they will put a blister on your finger with a touch. The new jj tubes are just very warm but get the job done. I don't know yet how long they will last but looking good so far. Back in the day tubes did not burn out in a matter of hours or months..it took years. I hope the jj's do the same. It was cheaper to buy these tubes to get the bad amp going than to pay shipping for warranty work. If you use a lower end tube amp I highly advise buying some extra tubes to keep the show going. Just looking at the jj's compared to the factory installed tubes will tell you there's much more beef to the jj's. Funny that a set of tubes for this little amp cost about 25% of what the whole amp cost but if you want it to work...get some good tubes.
