If you're reading this review, you're probably like me and trying to figure out what the best pair of headphones is for the price. My needs were a pair of headphones for flying on business trips; usually 2 hour flights at a time. My 'wants', in order, for headphones were: noise canceling, wireless, on-ear, portable, comfortable, and sound quality. I tried on almost every pair available in the stores and found some were more comfortable than others but might have poor noise canceling, then other had great noise canceling but were not wireless, and the list went on and on... When the dust settled I found that the JBL Elite 300's had everything I wanted except they were the least comfortable of the bunch. What easily pushed me over the edge was JBL had features that the competition couldn't touch and the noise canceling was the best I could find in a wireless headphone. For me, I could deal with them being the least comfortable because everything else was so far superior. For example, there is an app that allows you to customize the EQ, there is a button that allows you to hear the environment around you (called ambient aware), they have auto-off, they are durability, and of course the noise canceling is the best I found for a wireless model. I found they had too many 'goodies' that I couldn't pass up on. Pro's: Superior noise canceling, tons of technology, portable, durable, nice padded zipper case, sound excellent for the price, ambient aware, solid buttons and feel. Con's: JBL, I hope you're listening to your customers... You completely nailed it with this headphone but failed on comfort. In my opinion, they are least comfortable when compared to other brands. My wife and I both agree that the top of the headband goes flat when wearing and that creates a pressure point right at the top of the head. They are also very tight, but I think that would be much less of an issue if they arched at the top of the headband and had softer padding. Final thoughts: If you personally find them comfortable or at least tolerable, I would challenge you to try and find a more feature rich and quiet pair of headphones. For the money I think they are the best by a longshot. If they were more comfortable I would have paid more...

Got it for Christmas (3 days ago), and so far, the bluetooth feature is not working. It didn't have a charge indicator the first time I put it on the charger, so I tried turning it on. It turned on, and stayed on when it was on the charger cable, but "lost power" as soon as I took it off. The reason I say "lost power", is because after a full night of charging where the indicator was on for at least an hour, it still wouldn't turn on after being removed from the charging cord. I'm probably returning these soon, and hopefully my next pair of them won't be a fluke. As far as sound quality is concerned, these are really good. They have crisp highs and mids, with a nice amoung of bass. Everything is clean and well-balanced. They can be pretty loud, although when using a wired connection it varies depending on the source (but all headphones do that). This review is only off of limited use of the headphone, so keep that in mind before buying. Once I get a functioning set of these, I'll be able to give a more in-depth review of the headphones.

Do not buy if you have Mac

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

JBL does not have software updates for Mac. The instructions say to plug it in a Microsoft PC only to update. Very disappointed, will not connect to iPhone (but will connect to iPad), and can't use iMac to update.

One of the best bluetooth headphones

By DJ KAI

from Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

I just bought my JBL Everest Elite 300 less than a week now, and I really enjoy its sound quality and other technological features they come along with it like the ANC. Honestly, 3 of my colleagues loved how it isolate you from the outer world when you have it on. I would like to mention that the downloadable mobile app through the App store or Google play is so handy and a game changer as it gives you more control over the headphones by letting you control the audio frequencies to approach a satisfying sound based on the genre you're listening to through the custom equalizer feature, you will not find this feature available from its competitors. So JBL won the competition for this wow feature. The only thing that I think it's a minus point and I'm not happy with is the plastic materials have been used for the core build. I already started to feel that the ear cups getting a bit loose from the couple of times that I used the headphones for. For a guy who used to use the V-moda M100 military grade headphones, I would expect something that really built to last for quite some time. Overall, I like them and will use them for a long time as much as they live with me, these are not my first headphones, hence, I'm a DJ and music producer. But their sound quality is competing big names out their, so I can see a huge future for its successor.

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

This was my first pair of on ear headphones, I'm pretty happy with them. I like the app that comes with it, the sound quality is on point, from rock music all the way to rap, the sound works with it all. The things I do not like is how my ears start to hurt after wearing them for long periods of time, I was expecting a lot more comfort . The noise canceling is meh. Overall I'm happy with my choice of going with JBL.

A JBL Pro-stuffed room in a pair of headphones

By vesther

from Darien, IL, United States

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

The headphones seem to be uncomfortable to some, but the discomfort aside, Harman has been working very hard to ensure the experience of a JBL Pro-stuffed disco house is accessible in a pair of headphones. Though the battery life could be a bit better (10 hours as opposed to 15 in the Everest 700 Elite), the TruNote calibration (found in more expensive AKG headphones) is what separates the JBL Everest 300 Elite apart from other headphones in the past. You can customize the noise cancellation and the frequency response through a touch of your smartphone. Moreso, the dual-phase wired and wireless is a plus. So even though the headphones may be uncomfortable to some, it's a recommended product, but the JBL Pro-inspired sound seems to be very beautiful once you get used to the product.

Keeping It Simple

By HanaHou

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

I'm not sure if the HF were designed for audiophiles but the controls are complicated. Would have recommended simpler push button. Also, can't use plug in cable to listen and USB to charge at the same time. Heavy (weight) too.

Cord broke: Computer doesnt come with bluetooth

By Luckyloomagu

from Michigan, United States

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

I bought these 3 months ago, and I haven't been able to use them past 12 days in the first month, I was glad they came with a cord because I don't have bluetooth, but then, the sound on the right side cuts off, I immediately assume it's the computer's fault, before the sound cuts off entirely, and I realize the cord is broken, I thought it was fine since I could replace it with a different cord, but nope, it has some sort of "special cord", so now I cant use them... Yay...

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

I reported to JBL a month ago regarding the issue of these headphones not connecting to my AppleTV 4. Despite two phone calls and 3 email messages to product support, I have yet to get a response. Obviously I returned these headphones and purchased Bose SoundLink ii headphones that work great and do not have video/audio lag issue.

Comments about JBL V300NXT EVEREST Elite 300 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones:

First out the box, they seem uncomfortable. Especially with glasses. I was surprised on theThird day of wear the headphones cushions gave in and comfort is now excellent. The noise cancelling is great. The sound is Dynamic!!! Sadly, JBL Should give better instructions for Bluetooth pairing. It works, but that's my secret.
