The PRX700 Series represents an evolutionary step in powered speaker design. Efficient amplifier power, rugged durability and enhanced versatility combine together in a self-powered loudspeaker designed from the ground up to perform in the real world of sound reinforcement. Inconvenient audio environments, high ambient noise levels and loud volumes are typical features of performing, and the PRX700 Series is adept at meeting all of these challenges. They are the first systems to use JBL's patented Differential Drive technology with ferrite drivers featuring high power, wide bandwidth and low distortion. Versatile, scalable, easy-to-transport and set up, the PRX700 Series use JBL's tour tested technology throughout for a lifetime of reliable performance you can trust.
The JBL PRX712 is a powered two-way enclosure with a 1500-watts of Class D power. The clarity of this enclosure relative to its volume is revolutionary. JBL's Differential Drive technology incorporates lower mass in the ferrite magnet for reduced weight while maximizing power amp efficiency for greater heat dissipation and increased power handling.

Worth every penny, I'm a long time JBL owner of EON 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen 515xt series. These PRX712 will blow you away completely! I'm a solo jazz rb artist entertainer running 2 Yamaha motif xf keys with 2 prx712's thru an allen heath board. Whatever you have now, trade them in for these, whether solo or band use they are solid sound reinforcement, ultra quiet at low or high volumes, great wide range, beautifully built and look. The bass, mid and hi all compliment each other marvelously and smartly. The unit has a computer brain that controls sleep mode, power and fan modes automatically. The rear panel is user friendly-options for use and built like a tank but light and compact form. I am an audiophile and only buy the best and must say I was completely floored. A definite must have for solo, trio or band situation. Hearing is believing, check them out at GC and don't settle for any other 2 ways, spend the extra and get the prx712 you will be very surprised and inspired to perform better.
I absolutely love the PRX712. I bought it to act as the "amp" for a Roland GR-55 guitar synthesizer rig after both my bands separately told me they hate it when I run directly into the band PA. The speaker is light, has great range and oh boy is this monster loud. I play recorded music out of it as well, and, though it isn't a home speaker, it sounds good even when low. I docked the speaker a star only because it needs one more handle somewhere so it's easier to grab quickly. I'd really give it a 4.5 star rating. The QSC K12 is a noteworthy competitor for this speaker as far as sound goes, but the JBL PRX won out on the basis of a brand name all bar owners trust. They should for QSC too, but I won't take that chance.
I am owner of both the Prx 612 and now four of these Prx 712s. I am AMAZAZED at the low end and clarity of these. While the 612s provide a nice clean sound JBL took it to the next level with these. Buying the PRX 715s in my opinion wouldnt make much since with the amount of bass these put out by themselves. I have already used them both standalone and with my 618xlf subs and couldnt be more happier.
Purchased two of these in December 2013. The sound out of these are great. Compared to the my PRX612s the sound is a bit fuller! After a week one of the speakers had a hum/crackle when powered up. This noise was intermittent, but is now constant. The other (good speaker) just decided to stop working. Be careful when choosing your speakers.
JBL finally got the powered line right! I picked up a few of these to use for some DJ work along with using them as monitors when I provide sound reinforcement for live bands. Simply put these speakers are QSC killers. They have a very smooth flat response to the ear and also to SMAART. There was very little EQ adjustments needed. I will certainly be purchasing a full JBL PRX 700 series rig in the near future.
