Overview

The MRX518S is a compact, high-power subwoofer containing a 2044G 18" woofer in a front-loaded, vented enclosure. The speaker enclosure is designed to present a minimum frontal area. The system offers complete input connection flexibility for compatibility with a variety of cabling schemes. The input panel incorporates a pair of Neutrik Speakon NL-4 connectors wired in parallel. The MRX518S is supplied with pins +1/-1 connected to the woofer. This may be easily reconfigured to work with cabling systems intended to drive subwoofers on pins +2/-2. For "subwoofer/satellite" configurations, the MRX518S audio speaker is equipped with a top-mounted, 36mm polemount socket that can receive the optional SS3-BK pole. This can be used to mount speakers equipped with standard 35mm pole sockets and weighing up to 100 lbs. The enclosure is constructed of top-quality plywood, coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex finish, and braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The attractive CNC-machined, 16-gauge steel grille is internally lined with an acoustically transparent screen to provide additional driver protection and give a very professional appearance.

Our Band use these currently as we save up for Mackie replacements. Surprisingly these sound really great. They have a really great roll off and decent low end. I like the Mackies better. They have a lower bottom end and a deeper thump. I prefer to feel the bass as well as hear it. The JBLs don't give me that.

Great Sound!

By Glen Suckow

from Gladstone, Oregon

Comments about JBL MRX518S Single 18" Subwoofer Pair:

I lead the music at our church and we use these subs for our high school group in our youth room. They have worked great for me so far, and they give a real clean low end sound. Would recommend them for anyone looking for a high quality sub at a very reasonable price!

These Subs are amazing! Great quality! These things pump out whatever you disk to them and they beg for more. They are great in medium venues and pack the punk to add the bottom end to your live event! definitely recommend these speakers!

Bass for your buck.

By Juancarlos

Comments about JBL MRX518S Single 18" Subwoofer Pair:

These guy really hit hard. The kinda bass that you own heart has to fight with. I use these with my MRX 515. Combined with my DBX driverack plus and two crown XTI 4000 you can get the sound of a club in your own home, small, med, or large venue. Plus they are really light

Chest Thumping Bass

By Jason Freeland

from Austin, TX

Comments about JBL MRX518S Single 18" Subwoofer Pair:

These babies are great subs and very light weight. They handle a typical venue for 200 just fine. Of course with any sub, to make them thump you have to give them the juice. I push mine with an 1800 watt QSC Powerlight and seems to work fairly well but for really puchy times they could use an amp for each sub for maximum bass. For large venues like conventions centers, I would probally step it up to the SRX dual 18's. Of course you have to have the power and a lot of venues just don't have the power that is needed for the big boys.

solid

By Jesus Martinez

from Farmers Branch

Comments about JBL MRX518S Single 18" Subwoofer Pair:

I use the subwoofers for my small setups for a while now. I got say I love them. There really simple to setup. Just plug in the power supply n a XLR cable and your good to go. The woofers are light and easy to carry then some of the other brands. They really give you a nice and clean bass sound. All in all I would recommend these to anyone.
