The JBL LSR4300 Series Studio Monitors are designed for critical stereo and multi-channel audio production applications that require exceptional spectral accuracy and high SPL capability. Exclusive technology from JBL automatically analyzes and corrects the response of each speaker in the room for absolute accuracy in mixing.

Acknowledging that much of today's production is carried out in acoustically untreated rooms, the LSR4300 Series is the first professional monitor to combine JBL's Linear Spatial Reference technology and automated RMCTM Room Mode Correction, an onboard system that automatically compensates for low frequency anomalies measured at the mix position.

The LSR4300 enhances computer-based production by incorporating system-wide volume control, input source selection, individual speaker solo and user EQ. Harman HiQnetTM Network protocol enables centralized system-wide control from any speaker, wireless remote control, or computer using LSR4300 Control Center Software.

438H Low Frequency Transducer

The 8" woofer utilizes a powerful, shielded lightweight neodymium magnet which can be used in close proximity to CRT-type monitors with no interference. The transducer utilizes a copper-clad polepiece that improves high frequency output by reducing voice coil inductance. A copper ribbon voice coil ensures high sensitivity, and a flux shorting ring stabilizes the magnetic field in the gap, reducing distortion. Heat sinking has been placed close to the magnetic gap in order to draw out heat as efficiently as possible. The cone is polymer coated for uniformity of response over the woofer's passband.

431G High Frequency Transducer

The high frequency transducer has a treated silk diaphragm that produces uniform and smooth sound. Its flat ribbon aluminum voice coil ensures low-moving mass and enables the transducer to achieve response out to 22kHz. A lightweight neodymium magnet structure with integral heat sinking, along with ferrofluid in the magnetic gap, enable the transducer to produce high peak output levels with minimal power compression. The magnet structure is integrally shielded, enabling the system to be used in proximity to CRT-type monitors with no interference.

Bi-amplified Power System

The LSR4328P incorporates 2 high power amplifiers that provide 150 watts of power to the low frequency transducer and 70 watts of power to the high frequency transducer. A precision digital dividing network having high-order Linkwitz-Riley slope characteristics for smooth transition between transducers, results in exceptional imaging and lack of time smear. The circuitry also yields a tonal-artifact-free noise floor.

Network and Digital Features

The LSR4300 Series utilizes the Harman HiQnetTM network protocol that allows centralized control of a multi-channel system from a from any speaker's front panel, wireless remote control, or computer via a standard USB connection and LSR4300 Control Center Software. The network is configured using supplied CAT5 cable and by setting a DIP switch on each speaker. Harman HiQnet also enables synchronized RMC calibration of all speakers on the network.

Extreme Accuracy

By JPL Records

from Cary, IL

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

I started my studio just as I am sure many others have, low budget. I have gradually gained more experience and a larger budget, so I am trying to invest into the best equipment I can. I was looking for an upgrade from my Behringer Truth studio monitors, and was trying to decide between the Mackie HR824s and the JBL LSR4328Ps. The only way to really tell if you like anything is to compare it side by side with a competitor. I did just that. The Mackies were nice, but the JBLs were amazing! As soon as I calibrated the JBLs to my studio?s control room, I knew these were the ones for me. The accuracy was just unbelievable. They translated so well to consumer stereo systems. They are in a sense like microscopes for my ears, I hear every detail. These are by far the best purchase I have made for the studio yet and do not regret spending the extra cash.

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

These monitors are dead accurate, easy to use and probably one of the best investments I've made in my studio. Cheap monitors, in my experience, produce a cheap mix. These are the best I've ever had!

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

My uncle the legendary Steel guitar player jimmy Day took me to get my first guitar and he told me if your gonna get something pertaining to music get something good cause you'll get discouraged if you get a cheap piece of junk, and I think that was probably some of the best advice I've ever had, I did'nt really have money for these but I got them and I own my own record label so pro quality is the only way to go. These are the best monitors I've ever heard and the ease of use is self explanitory, I couldn't be happier. The only way your gonna get better monitors is spending ten's of thousands on custom made Genelecs. But hey I'd still put em' up agaisnt those once I add the sub. You really can SEE the sound field with immaculate precision. DO NOT go and buy some 300$ pair of monitors you will only wish you had gotten these. Thank you JBL and Guitar center. Youv'e made me Rich. Buck Lovett Smokin' Buzzard Records

JBL LSR 4328P Studio Moniors

By Humble Jim

from Kansas City, Mo.

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

These speakers were purchased because of advise from a Guitar Center employee who owns a pair. Also, all the reviews of the speakers were favorable. I was impressed with the self-equalizing technology inherent in the LSR 4238 Monitors. A flat frequency response has always been the "Holy Grail" of audiophiles. Hopefully, the self correcting technology of these speakers is more accurate than my hearing. The speakers are used with my Yamaha Motif XS-8 Synthesizer, and rest upon the floor stands which Guitar Center sells. These devises, combined, have proven to be a powerful and satisfactory combination. They exceed my expectations while meeting all of my musical needs. I can recommend them without reservation.

These Monitors are the Bomb, but...

By Michael Vallejo

from Aliso Viejo

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

I've had these monitors for about 3 years now and they rule. My mixes have never been better and I really love these monitors. The only problem, there is a residue on the monitor face that gets really tacky/sticky and seems to get worse over time. I can literally touch the monitor face now and it will leave an imprint of my finger. There is also a posting about the problem on another forum. I am actually sending them back to JBL this week for evaluation because they stickiness has gotten so bad that is also making the buttons on the front sticky. On the plus side their customer service is very responsive and very professional.

Best Speakers Ive heard

By Mike G

from Rancho Cucamonga CA

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

When these speakers are at full volume, nothing distorts, and the sound is so clean, its hard to tell that the sound is coming from the speakers. The room is so full of music it actually feels like you are in the song. Its hard to explain but Ive had these for 4 months and am still amazed by the quality of sound. Setup was a breeze. Speakers can be connected via Ethernet so when you make a change to one, the other one is affected; Brilliant idea. The RMC is helpful but sounds better when its turned off. These are the last monitors i wil ever buy. Thank you JBL

Terrific monitors

By Charles Arnoldi

from Hawthorne NJ

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

Best Monitors for the money! I too had that problem with the residue. Being a chemist but a part time musician as well I developed a green non toxic liquid to remove the plasticized film and make it look brand new again. It also conditions the rubberised acrylic coating so it will not return. I should have a video posted on You Tube in a day or so. It takes about 5 minutes per monitor to clean. I haven't determined the platicizer yet but if it is pthylate based it is a plus to get it off as it is a known health hazard. You can reach me at if anyone has questions. I guarantee you will be impressed with the results and how new they will look. No effect on the sound whatsoever.

Great Monitors

By Sergio Ramirez

from Austin, TX

Comments about JBL LSR4328P Studio Monitor Pair:

These are great monitors. I'm a hobbyist, not a pro engineer, working on recordings form church or practicing/recording bass or guitar, but I took the plunge to get these monitors that are a bit beyond entry level, and I'm very pleased. They are very clear across the frequency spectrum. I can A/B test them vs. JBL LSR 308's and MAudio 5Bx and they are clearly better, very clear on the mids. The Room Mode correction is very easy to use and fast. By comparison I've also done the room mode correction on JBL LSR 2328 with the MSC1, and that one much more difficult and long (I had to revive an old WinXP computer for the software to work). These 4328 were very easy to set up. The HiQNet works well, the controls on the front of the speaker are very handy, the availability of SPDIF and AES/EBU connection also give it a lot of flexibility. Overall I think it was a great purchase, and I'm glad I took the plunge after considering them for over 2 years. Unfortunately, the first set shipped had a problem in that control panel on the front of one of the speakers did not work -- the LED's would not light up and the power and +/- buttons wouldn't work, but GC was treat at exchanging them. As soon as I talked to them they sent another set, and arrived within a few days. Excellent service!
