Great Monitors

By

from Bonaire, Ga.

Comments about JBL LSR 2328P 8" Bi-Amplified Powered Studio Monitor:

I have been a JBL fan for a long time. I use these speakers in a stand alone studio. I was using a pair of JBL L112 speakers with a Denon 400 watt stereo amp (old school). I decided to start using a smaller powered set of monitors, so I looked to JBL first. I was not disappointed. Without a sub, these little guys sound great. They deliver a clean flat near field sound. I really like them and can only imagine what they would sound like with a sub (my next purchase). For a moderate priced system I could not ask for more. They are well worth the price. I will probably buy another pair for the office computer (maybe a pair for the TV. They are amazing!

First real monitors - very impressed

By

from Chalfont, PA

Comments about JBL LSR 2328P 8" Bi-Amplified Powered Studio Monitor:

After becoming frustrated with mixing using home stereo speakers for many years, I finally decided it was time to get a pair of decent monitors. I read some reviews and was considering the LSR 2325s, but then I decided that it would probably be worth going for the better low end response. I had the opportunity to listen to the LSR 2328s in the store with a variety of songs in my preferred genres, and I wasn't disappointed. I decided to buy a pair on the spot, and when I brought them home a few days later, I was impressed with how loud they really are. For casual listening I really have to turn them down, and even putting them on a desktop, I don't feel like I'm missing a subwoofer (but at least I have the option in the future). I think the two best words I can use to describe them are clear and present. I've heard things in songs through these speakers that I never noticed before. The stereo field is excellent, and there is a good bit of depth to the sound. I wouldn't call it in-your-face exactly, but everything blends together nicely between the left, center and right. I would definitely recommend these for home studio mixing and listening, though it's always a good idea to keep an eye out for a discount.

Perfection

By

from Fort Myers, FL

Comments about JBL LSR 2328P 8" Bi-Amplified Powered Studio Monitor:

Finally time to upgrade from my Alesis Monitor One speakers powered by a Furman HA-6 headphone amp... all 2 decades old. I tried the 5" model of JBL's but exchanged them for these 8" monsters. What can I say but "I LOVE THESE MONITORS!!!". Accurate with smooth but tight highs, full powerful bass so my Infinity subwoofer goes back to the home stereo. They are fairly loud (could always use more) but NEVER distort even at 10! I feed them with a MAudio ProjectMixIO and get GREAT sound. Seems to have solved a lot of my room mode problems (how can that be? maybe the design of the rear ports better than my old Alesis?). Buy them!!! You'll LOVE them too!!!

Sound like the higher end lsr's

By

from San Diego, CA

Comments about JBL LSR 2328P 8" Bi-Amplified Powered Studio Monitor:

I Hope this is a better review than the other one. So i have been on a journey of trying to find a great monitor for a decent price. First i went to Mackie MR5's which sounded really good especially for the price but i noticed the bass was artificial and lacking the really low end. So then i sold those and went for the MR8's. Even more disappointed. Sold those and went with Alesis M1 Active 620's and i was finally happy until i notice the bass was a little muddy and tweeter just a tad bit piercing. Still for the price, they were great and my mixes came out pretty good. Still in need of an upgrade, i went to my local G.C. and heard the LSR2328 and wow was i surprised. they sounded like the high end lsr's. Warm, no harshness what so ever on the tweeters. Great low end bass that was musical and not mono tone. Smooth creamy mids. Worth every penny and more. Recommend them for anyone that enjoys good sound quality.
