A year ago when I purchased a pair of these speakers I was loooking for a set that would sound really good, hold up under contsant use & abuse and at a good price. I'm happy to report that I got that and more from these speakers. Now when I set up and play anywhere (indoors or out), I always get plenty of complements on just how good these speakers sound! I will be back to guitar center for another pair soon!

    Great Speaker

    By JAMES PERUTA

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I am drummer and was looking for something to use as a personal drum monitor. I went to GC and tried every speaker they had. I was concentrating mainly on the kick sound and how it would handle and reproduce that at loud levels. These by far outperformed everything I tried. The bottom end was tight and did not distort at loud volumes where every other brand did. I power using a Crown XTi2000 and everything is crystal clear, lows, mids and highs with volume to spare. I'm debating whether to get 2 more as mains versus the 115s with subs. They are heavy but they are sturdy and well made. Luckily I don't have to use them often at live gigs but when I have, I am beyond satisfied with my monitored sound. It is better than I get at most other venues where sound is supplied. I use them mainly for personal practice and band rehearsals and they have worked flawlessly for the past 2 years and counting.

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have these speakers hooked up to a CrownXTi2000 amp playing full range along with a pair of 18" subs on a CrownXLS802 for some extra kick. let me tell you these JBL speakers rock. Nice clear mids fill the venue every single time, I gave away my Peavey115s which are no match for these babies. I am one pleased Puppy.

      Best bang for the buck

      By Jeff Heuer

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have had a pair of these cabs for a couple of weeks now and all I can say is WOW!! I upgrade to these from a pair of Peavey PV215's and the difference in sound is phenomenal. I know there are definately better sounding speakers out there but nothing even close in this price range. These cabs get unbearably loud. The midrange in my opinion is outstanding. The highs are good and clear but can become brittle and raspy sounding but only when played at extreme volumes. When used with a big enough amp and eq'd properly these speakers have a decent amount of tight punchy thump. For smaller indoor events you don't need to bring a sub. If you are using more than 2 of theses cabs then chances are you won't need to use a sub very often but I guess that all depends on your personal preferences. I have used many different dual 15 cabs in the past years that were in this price range and these are second best to the cerwin vega cabs I had years ago. These blow away the Peavey, Yamaha, B52, and Behringer cabs i have used in the past.

I have used 2 pairs of these for the last six years and played over 800 shows with them! We have packed them, dropped them, scarred them up... and they still sound as good as the day I bought them! They sound great especially when powered with enough wattage. You can't go wrong with this speaker!

SF25 (Older version of this speaker)

      By Plague guitarist

      from Texas

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have the sound factor series of this, which is the line that these replaced. Almost identical features and same great value. All I have to say is They have lasted me 7 years now and still take a beating. I am running a crown xti 4000 with 2 of these on each side and they work great. A subwoofer is mandatory if you want superior bottom end, but the lower 15 does do a great job on it's own. To the guy that said he was running 2 of these with a bridge mono amp I have 1 question. What amp were you using cause most bridge mono do not go to 2 ohms.

      Worth the price

      By DJ Joey V

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I was never fond of JBL products until I heard the JRK125's. These speakers work very well and sound great! Excellent clarity. You can leave the subwoofer(s)at home because they put out tons of bass. They are a bit on the heavy side, but you save time and simplify your setup time with these especially if you play on stages.

      JBL JRX 125 - Pair

      By Christopher Smith

      from Dallas, TX

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I bought a pair of these (matched to a Crown 802) after comaring them to several higher prices alternatives (IE Compression driver + 15 in woofer x 2) these sounded better by far - especially at lower volumes. The quasi three way crossover give you GREAT Sound no matter what your input source is. I use them as my guitar speakers with a Marshall JMP-1 preamp + mixer. Sounds outstanding. As sound reinforcement for music/ music reproduction - amazing. I hook them up to my TV to watch movies - sounds like you are at the IMAX completely crystal clear. I would highly recommend these for any use... you can never go wrong with these JBLs.

      Love or hate them

      By Jim-MiPFd

      from Allentown area-PA

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

Pro sound guys HATE the JRX line. Why? They simply do not sound as good as the upper JBL series or many other high-end speakers. I own the entire JRX line from cabs to subs. I use them for hardcore mosh pit music. They work fine for that. These speakers are very bright, however. They push the highs forward. This is kind of cool when your program material is yelling, growling, and cookie monster vocals. People want the china to shatter their ears. BUT if your material is more subtle you won't like these. A-B them with the SRX or MRX series and you will imediately hear the difference. The MDF construction requires you to keep them very dry and handle them gently. I needed to get up and running and learn how to run a PA without spending big $ on speakers. I run FOH/monitors on xti amps along with Drive Rack PAs and dBx compressors. The bands say they like the sound, fans like it, so I am good for now. I DO plan on going with the better JBL line someday. If you can't afford better, consider these.
