These speakers are the BOMB...

By g-rock

from St. Charles, MO

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

...and they have the low end to prove it. A musician friend told me to buy these speakers a year ago and I didn't listen. These speakers are clear and punchy.I play every thing from Blues to Gospel and the sound is Amazing. Don't think I've had the volume up more than half of what they are capable of. My only criticism is I wished they had better handle grips for carrying--maybe one on each side (hint-hint to JBL). One handle makes it awkward to carry and mount on a pole or speaker stand. Also the wing-nuts to tighten on a speaker stands don't seem to work as well as they should. Other than that these speakers are well worth the investment.

JBL Eon15 G2

By Ger

from Hanford, CA

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

I have over 16 years experience with JBL products. These are the best bang for your buck. I use 2 JBL Eon 15G2's and 3 JBL Eon 10G2's in a House of Worship and a 7 member 60's Rock Band. Great sound and output power. JBL Eon 10G@'s work great as Stage monitors. JBL Eon 15G2's work great as sound reinforcement. Also work great as stand alone for portable PA and music.

www.eastcoastinvasion.net loves this product

By DJ 1-5-"O\

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

Search no more...Spend the money for the best! You will never have to worry about sound, quality, or blowing anything with these speakers. People recognize quality and there is nothing worse than having another DJ at your gig talking smack about the quality of your equipment. With these, they always come up and compliment me. You get your moneys worth and then some. I added the JBL JRX118SP sub-woofer and the JBL EON10 G2 to the set and my sound system is now officially off the chain! If a party was needed at the Arco Arena, I could light it up!

JBL Eon G2

By Jason Hollar

from Pittsburgh

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

I scaled down my PA system from a Mackie powered head and two unpowered Mackie speakers to just one powered JBL speaker and compact mixing board. I needed a small, portable system for announcements and guest vocals on select jazz combo gigs. The speaker is super clean and powerful, with plenty of juice for bigger venues. Plug in a CD player or ipod and you're all set for break music (and the dreaded "special request" that the musicians don't want to play!) I'm thinking of getting the smaller 10 version for a monitor or extra main in venues with odd room layouts. All in all, much better than the competion. Just wish it had a second handle for ease of transport...but I just ordered a rolling speaker bag, so hopefully that will do the trick!

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

i purchased these to dj at parties. i already used them twice and they rocked the joint... my buddies were jealous because i didn't need to buy an amp to power them up. they wished they would have just payed the extra cash to buy these. i will recommend to spend the extra cash on these. well worth it.

portable and powerful

By GC's friend

from Simi Valley, Ca.

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

I have a pair of these monsters for two years now using them (once a week) as main speakers for small to medium size Acoustic Guitar and Jazz Sessions, and also to some mobile dj gigs teamed with B-52's self powered Act18 Sub paralled with another Act18 (passive) sub and the EonP1s as monitors . They are definitely worth it considering their power to dollar ratio; for 400 watts of power they have an ample power that I need on my gigs and they're professional looking. They have 3 inputs with one balanced XLR. The only downside is they have a slightly harshness in mid to upper frequencies compared to the brother's mackies SRM-450s, but I can shape/correct it using a dual 31 band EQ (which is recommended for my sound applications). As per experience, the eons are first-rate interms of ruggedness, power, portability and reliabilty. No major issues/problems so far.

Great speakers, pack a punch

By Joel

from Eugene, OR

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

I've used both these and Mackie 450's, and honestly they both are great speakers, and in my oppinion are pretty dang similar. The Eon's have a bit more noise to them, but you'd only notice if it was quite and you weren't playing, once you start playing you don't notice at all. These guys get pretty loud. My band was playing a show in a park, and we had these just over half-way and people said they had heard us from 10 blocks away. The quality of sound is very good for powered speakers, and they're easier to carry around than if you had to take an amp and such with you. I've never used them for monitors, so I can't testify to their use there, but I don't see why they would be a problem.

I Want Another JBL Eon G2

By Chuck Sulewski

from New York

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

The JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Speaker is the best speaker that I have ever owned, and used. I have only owned one other Powered Speaker, but have used multiple active (powered) and passive (non-powered) speakers in the past - including brands from Peavey, EV, and SoundTech. I am a piano and keyboard player. I am not a professional, but I know how to have fun. I own both a Roland Phantom S88 and a Yamaha Clavinova Digital Piano. I needed a speaker that could push a frequency range that matched the frequency range of my instruments. Originally, I purchased one of the lesser expensive brand models, and soon realized that these lesser expensive speakers could not play my bottom notes without an annoying ?popping sound.? I then borrowed and rented the other brands, to only find the same problem. As a result, I needed to save my money again until I could afford my current Eon15 G2. I use the sequencer built in my Roland, and layer many songs with drumbeats, bass patches, chorus patches, special effects, and brass and piano patches. The ending sound coming from the Eon15 G2 is pure, and you can hear each individual patch layered throughout the song without any loss of sound. I also play with a group of other musicians about twice a month. When we practice playing inside, we use my Eon15 as the main speaker and it carries our three microphones, my Roland, and two acoustic guitars without distorting or loosing any sound. When we play outside, we use a bigger PA system and simply use my Eon15 as a stage monitor so we can hear ourselves. It works great in both applications ? and it is very loud, while pushing crisp sounds. Most of the time I run the speaker through an external mixing board. However, I have also used the built in mixer on the back of the Eon on several occasions when playing a gig alone. I just bring my keyboard and a microphone, plug both in to the back of the JBL, and play. On at least two occasions, I have attached my Eon15 to a CD player, and just turned up the volume during some of our outside tailgate parties before a football game, and during our neighborhood 4th of July Party. Each time, I received compliments from several people on how they could not believe that all the sound was coming out of just one speaker. Now with all that good mentioned, there comes some bad too. My Eon15 G2 has a slight buzzing sound at very low volume levels. I have heard other people complain about this too. When I use it to practice alone at my house, I normally turn down the sound. When I do, you can hear this slight buzzing sound. You get use to the buzz at low levels, because once you turn the sound up to have some fun, all the buzzing goes away. In addition, the Eon15 is very heavy. I guess it has to be heavy in order to pump out the volume that it does. Both of these cons don?t change my mind about how good the speaker is. I plan to purchase another Eon15 G2 and an Eon10 G2 to replace the bigger PA system that I mentioned earlier for our outside applications. It is very convenient to use the Powered Speakers, because you ultimately carry less gear everywhere you go.

Awesome with a sub!

By soundman

from san jose, ca

Comments about JBL Eon15 G2 Powered Cabinet:

Buy these along with a subwoofer, and you'll never go looking for speakers again. The bass on these are punchy enough without the sub, but with the sub, you will hear what a complete sound package you have assembled. These speakers have excellent frequency range, especially the highs, they sound amazingly clear, even at high volumes. They're easy to setup, so even beginners can use these comfortably!
