Active enclosure with unprecedented power and bandwidth.

The PRX700 Series represents an evolutionary step in powered speaker design. Efficient amplifier power, rugged durability and enhanced versatility combine together in a self-powered loudspeaker designed from the ground up to perform in the real world of sound reinforcement. Inconvenient audio environments, high ambient noise levels and loud volumes are typical features of performing, and the PRX700 Series is adept at meeting all of these challenges. They are the first systems to use JBL's patented Differential Drive technology with ferrite drivers featuring high power, wide bandwidth and low distortion. Versatile, scalable, easy-to-transport and set up, the PRX700 Series use JBL's tour tested technology throughout for a lifetime of reliable performance you can trust.

The JBL PRX735 is a powered three-way enclosure with a 1500-watts of Class D power. The clarity of this enclosure relative to its volume is revolutionary. JBL's Differential Drive technology incorporates lower mass in the ferrite magnet for reduced weight while maximizing power amp efficiency for greater heat dissipation and increased power handling.

The amplifier input panel offers XLR or 1/4" jack compatibility and a sensitivity switch provides extra flexibility, making it possible to connect literally any sound source without using a mixer. Signal present and overload lights indicate the system status and assist in setting the optimum level via the level control knob.

  • Gotta Have - Kickin Sound Reinforcement

As reviewed by Anthony Dannuzio on 11/18/2013

Worth every penny, I'm a long time JBL owner of EON 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen 515xt and also JBL SRX series. These PRX735 will blow you away completely! I'm a solo jazz rb artist entertainer running 2 Yamaha motif xf keys with 1 prx735 and have a trio/2 vocalists with 2 prx735's thru an allen heath board. Whatever you have now, trade them in for a prx735, whether solo or band use they are solid sound reinforcement, ultra quiet at low or high volumes, great wide range, beautifully built and look. The bass, mid and hi all compliment each other marvelously and smartly. The unit has a computer brain that controls sleep mode, power and fan modes automatically. The rear panel is user friendly-options for use and built like a tank but light and compact form. I am an audiophile and only buy the best and must say I was completely floored when I first ran my keyboard setup straight thru the prx735 without a mixer and unbelievable sound. I believe this is the best powered 3 way I have seen and heard in 35 years in the biz and a must buy if you want the best and sound better than anyone else. A definite must have for solo, trio or band situation. Hearing is believing, check them out at GC and don't settle for the 2 ways, spend the extra and get the 3way prx735, you will be very surprised and inspired to perform better.

  • Best choice for the money!!!

As reviewed by Bobby on 2/11/2015

When trying to decide what to buy we demo'd multiple brands in store, looked at all the specs and sat on it for a while. We finally pulled the trigger and went with these and we couldn't have made a better choice. The highs are crystal clear and articulate, the mids are versatile and punchy and the low end can be extremely dynamic. We did a couple of full band shows and acoustic performances as well and these perform well. When you add the PRX718 you get the complete sound package. The range of this speaker is tremendous as well giving you the ability to have lots of overheard for FOH. The speaker looks great and the housing is carpet-free and easy to wipe down and keep clean. Only thing is, make sure you have plenty of power when you plug these babies in; as in make sure you have at least 2 - 30amp breakers or you risk the speakers surging. You won't be able to plug the two mains and two subs into one outlet on one breaker and in some smaller clubs that can be a task. You have lots of good options in the same price range by some other outstanding companies but if you want proven performance, go with these speakers. Your band and your crowd will thank you!

  • Excellent Speakers !!!! Update

As reviewed by JOHN on 10/14/2014

Okay, I promised an update after my band performed with the JBL PRX 735's. First off we are a bar room boogie rock band. J.Geils, Grand Funk, Bruce Springsteen Joe Cocker Stones, Pat Benetar, Janis, Bonnie Rait Etc. Very high energy with three part harmony. I sing lead and we have a great female vocalist. I have a Yamaha CP4 stage piano with hundreds of voices, Organs, strings etc, I also play rhythm and we mic my lead guitarist and my amp through the PA.... Just setting the stage { no pun intended } As expected in a mid sized club,{ without a subwoofer cause my bassist has a powerful rig with a wedge he uses to balance the sound to the audience,} the sound was phenomenal. We had played there many times with a great passive speaker system {JBL} and the two bartenders said "WTF did you guys do ? They said "you've always had great sound but this is incredible " NO BS. That was their response. The mids, highs and the entire blend was crystal clear, the keys were very powerful and clear, and most importantly the manager kept coming from the dining side of the restaurant to ask us to turn down. I was running them at 12oclock {0} and had the mains on my A&H mixing board at about 1/3 volume ! {Less than (0)!! So much headroom, It's freakin amazing. I cannot say enough about these speakers. JBL thought of everything as the other reviewer said they have a great venting system with a fan and a sleep mode for when there is no signal for 5 minutes. They come back on with a whisper in the mic. SO No heating issues !! The best investment I have made in the band in a while. Sorry for the long review, but I have been in bands for 35 years and these beasts are more than powerful enough to handle larger rooms with prenominal quality. 5 STARS
