Dual 15s deliver massive sound

The MRX525 dual 15", 2-way dual chamber, bass reflex, main PA speaker is an excellent choice when the application calls for high performance and simplicity. A pair of MRX525s and a single, high-power amplifier comprise a complete sound system capable of reinforcing bass and kick drum or playing high-level music in clubs and other venues. The MRX525 audio speaker has 2 - 15" 265H Differential Drive woofers with combined power handling of 800W continuous. For the high frequencies, a 2408H 1.5" annular polymer diaphragm, neodymium compression driver is mounted to a 70° x 70° horn. The 70° coverage angle of the MRX525 is wide enough to provide coverage of an audience when used one-per-side, yet narrow enough to allow splaying of multiple enclosures without excessive coverage overlap. The enclosure is constructed of quality plywood and coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex finish. The attractive CNC-machined, 16-gauge steel grille wraps around the sides of the speaker enclosure. The grilles are internally lined with an acoustically transparent screen to provide additional driver protection and give a very professional appearance.

  • Great Sounding! Just be carefull with the Horn Drivers.

As reviewed by Joe Steinwand on 11/8/2010

I run a professional sound company and my mid-sized rig includes 4 of these cabinets and 2 528s subs. I power each 525 with one channel of a QSC plx 3602 which is in JBL's words a "resonable match". I leave the clip limiters turned on and I use a DBX driverack 260 with limiters on my mains. I run a lot of outdoor shows with this system and it sounds great but Ive had to replace a high frequency driver 5 times now. I know what you must be thinking, but I'm not overdriving these, nor do I subject them to any feedback or anything. I'm not saying don't buy these but here's a hint if you have these problems, replace them with Eminence PSD:2002S-8 1" Titanium Driver 8 Ohm. In my opinion these may even sound better. The factory drivers handle about 50 to 60 watts, the Eminence can handle 80. The major difference is that these are ferrite magnet so they are a lot heaver but that is why they can handle more.

  • AWESOME SOUND AND BASS

As reviewed by Jorge Gutierrez on 11/22/2010

I was shopping for a good pair of speakers for our church and came to find the GREAT speakers. I combined them with the MRX 518 Subs. Great sound, great investment and no more room for my other speakers since these did the job! STRONLY RECOMMEND these speakers.

  • Amazing sounds from JBL

As reviewed by DJCHUCKNJ on 9/19/2008

I have been Djing for over 30 years and have had several speakers, realizing that the most important thing first and foremost is what the people hear, I did some research, so after going over specs from different speakers I decided on these speakers, and you know what, this was the best investment I have made to my system, the sound is amazing and will take the paint off the walls take your breathe away while still sounding good. I do a lot of mobile functions and these speakers are pretty light and easy to move. I play all types of music and at all kinds of functions, House music is my favorite, kudos again to JBL!!!!!!!!
