The JBL EON305 is a 15", 2-way, passive portable speaker system. This lightweight loudspeaker system is capable of full-bandwidth reproduction at high levels. The EON315 PA speaker is comprised of a 15" JBL woofer and a 1" neodymium high-frequency compression driver coupled with a 100° H x 50° V waveguide. The system will handle 250W continuously and 1000W peak.
After lugging around my Yamaha BR15's for 5 years I thought I would look for an upgrade. I logged on to guitar center to check out the JBL EON 1500 only to find the brand new EON 305, they had a rebate so I picked up a pair. The new EON's sound awesome,these speakers make instruments and vocals crystal clear with great bass response, my band loves them. Another great feature is they are super lite with great handles to make loading & unloading easy. My wife said the sound quality is so much better she would have bought them for me if she would have known. I should take her up on that the next time JBL makes a speaker.
Clean, crisp sound in a light-weight enclosure. I was worried that the lightwieght enclosure would sacrifice some bass response, but after using these speakers on the job, my fears were put to rest. Compared to the JRX115's, the only negative is that you may get a little bass feedback when a mic is positioned close to the back of the speaker, where the JRX115 does not. I can live with that by keeping singers a little further away from the speakers. I am sold on the clarity and portability of these speakers. I use a Crown xti2000 power amp and depending on the size of the venue, add a jbl sub woofer for extra bass. With or without a sub, you will be impressed by the sound these speakers put out.
