  • Jackson always makes good instruments

Great guitar for the money. This is the first time I bought a guitar without playing it first, since I owned a Jackson RRV (which was a fantastic guitar) before I went ahead and purchased this online from The neck is comfortable and wide, which I like since I play classical guitar, and the jumbo frets are great. Though I have to get used to the difference for my stretches again. I didn't have to do a set-up on it just yet as it came from the factory intonated and with good action. Maybe later I'll see if I can get the action down a bit more. This is the first time I played on a 7 string and while getting used to it took time I love it. Great tones come out of the pickups and the onboard electronics are sound. The tones I get for clean and distorted are great. It's light as well which is great since with some guitars it's like strapping a concrete block to your body which is uncomfortable after long periods of standing/playing. My only complaint which is very minor was that it wasn't in stock when I bought it so I had to wait a week more, but that's no big deal. I guess 7 strings aren't as popular as they once were.

  • A real bang for your buck.

This guitar I bought because I wanted to try out a seven string and not pay out the ass for it, this guitar was a great choice not just because of the fantastic price, but because of the true Jackson quality you get from this instrument. The action was great, the chords play clear and without ring right out of the box, and the low end chug was the best characteristic of this guitar because when you chug you can really feel it, its nice and crunchy and it resonates fantastically. I recommend this guitar to ANYBODY looking for a seven string guitar in general, not even just a low end one.

  • Well worth the money!!

As reviewed by Chris on 10/25/2014

I've been wanting to try out a 7 string for quite a while but I didn't want to spend a ton of money, in case I didn't like it. So, I ordered this one and I LOVE it!! Being a 6 string player for close to 30 years, the extra string was pretty easy to get used to, although I'm still getting accustomed to it. I wasn't sure if I'd like the mini shark-tooth inlays because I'm so used to the dot-type inlays but, I like them and I've had no problems. They look really cool too! The stock pickups aren't bad either. A lot of people might prefer to swap them out for something a little more powerful but for me, they're fine. So far, it seems to stay in tune pretty well. Only a few minor adjustments here and there. The guitar itself is beautiful and VERY solid. I'm not really sure what the finish on the body is made of. Kinda feels like some kind of composite material. But I like it a lot. The neck is pretty thin and easy to get around on. So, if you've been wanting to try out a 7 string but don't want to spend a lot of money, GET THIS GUITAR!!
