I just bought this product today. I love how tiny it is,it's so portable you can leave it clipped on the guitar even so you never loose it. The automatic shut off is awesome, the screen is great and the way it let's you know you've hit the note WOW!! haven't seen anything like it. The sensor is extremely sensitive so you need to be gentle as you tighten and loosen the strings. I'm a beginner player and have been using a qwik tuner for about three years so my guitar is usually tuned more on the sharp side. I finally adjusted the A-ref to 440 which gave me the sound I wanted. I am really happy with my purchase. It will make tuning my guitar before class a snap and I won't have to be worrying about the noise in the room, where to put the tuner so it can register the sound or it going off in my purse when pressed against something. Can't go wrong with this one!

It does a great job of helping you keep your instrument in tune, but after a few months of use, mine completely fell apart. If they improved the dodgy quality of this unit, I'd consider recommending it to anyone. Spend the little extra and get the better one that Intellitouch makes.

A superb tuner

By Sambath

from Roseville, MN

I've had mine since Spring-2010 and I'm happy to say this thing still works. It is super accurate - after tuning my guitar with it, I plug in my guitar to my Xbox-360 to play Rock Smith and the software always says my guitar is perfectly tuned. I've seen a bunch of these tuners that use vibration to tune. Of the dozens I've seen, I think this is the best because it has a sizeable screen that makes it very easy to read. The backlight glows green or red and it's super bright! This is not the cheap stuff here because I've seen other's where the backlight is very dim. The only time I had an issue all these years is when I threw it in my guitar case on a very cold MN night last week. When I went to use it again, only a portion of the panel worked. I took out the batteries, re-inserted, and it worked perfectly fine again.

Good Things Comes in Small Packages

By Dawn

from California

Despite its relatively small size, it is easy to read and use. The color coded screen helps make tuning the guitar easier than trying to read the little lines; however, those help you determine which direction you should turn the tightening screws. Great product in a small package.

great tuner

By Michael

from Glenmoore, PA

i was not sure about this one before i bought it, but this is a great little tuner. no need to switch for each string (like the old one i had). no need for plugging in, as it works off vibrations. easy to read, and the backlight is red when out of tune, and green when in tune. great value for the price too. very pleased.

Works for the most part, no real issues.

By James Savino

from ROchester NY

This is an affordable and decent tuner. You can change the concert pitch which is nice, and the screen lights up big and bright when its in tune. Good design, it came with a fresh battery installed, and a new one in the box! NICE Thing I did not like is the amount of adjustment to the clipping arm... I can never seem to get it quite where I want it but oh well. Also... for basses and lower tunings... a alot of the time I simply can't get it to pick up the string at all.... just reads nothing. For tuning standard seems to work fine, for example if I tune down to say DROP C, I CANNOT get the low C to read at all... Weird. I do recommend this though, mine did not break like other peoples have. Maybe they are too rough with it.

Not very accurate and not as adjustable as it should be

By Bradford Hadley

from Portsmouth, NH

I really hate this tuner. I bought this one when I needed another tuner and the one I wanted wasn't available (Planet Waves). First off, it has limited ways it can be attached and on my guitar (Les Paul) there is no place to attache it so you can see it easily. Secondly, it is not very accurate. I assumed that all clip-on tuners in this price range pretty much used the same chips but apparently not. Comparing this to my other tuners, there is a significant difference between what it considers tuned and what my others (and tuning fork) say is tuned. There are others in this price range that are much better.

The clip mount could be better. A bit flimsy.

By GERALD LAROSA

from Rutherford, New Jersey

I will be posting pictures for the tuner applied on the neck of my Alvarez acoustic and Fender Telecaster. The tuner mounts on the headstock of the guitar via a spring loaded clip which is mounted to a swivel mechanism. The swivel affords only ONE way to mount/display the tuner which is under the head. Any other way causes the display to be seen upside down. I wish the tuner had a goose-neck or stiff-wire extension applied to the clip so it could be adjusted a bit away from the head and tuners. In the real life world of performance, the overall plastic construction and "slippery" clip does not give me the confidence this will hold up after time. I can also envision the tuner flying off the headstock into a human human head. Otherwise, the tuner works as advertised and the fact that it glows green when the proper pitch is achieved is a nice feature. May make a nice stocking stuffer for the next holiday season.

Very Annoying Tuner

By Josh

from Greensboro NC

I have been meaning to review this tuner for a year or so. It is about 2 years old and never has worked properly. I should have returned it the day I got it. I noticed that the backlight flickers whenever you move it around on the headstock. Also, it sometimes freezes up while trying to tune, so you have to stop plucking the string to let it reset itself. Recently, the power button has started to short out, so I have to remove the battery and put it back in. The first time it wouldn't turn on I thought the battery was dead but as I removed the back and the battery moved around between the contacts the stupid thing turned on and worked for a few more months, so I knew that it wasn't the battery. It is just a very finicky tuner. Maybe I just got a bad one. On the bright side (when I finally get the string in tune) I enjoy the color changing LED screen. That is about it.

lousy for bass, fair to poor for other uses

By Randall Pitman

from Georgetown TX

Bought this tuner today. Salesman said was the best and excellent for bass including five string. Will not even read the low B and barely reads the E and A. Once tuning higher notes (D and G) did fairly well. No easy to read position almost as if set up for a lefty. The clip seemed ok. Tried on Fender MIM Jazz 5 string. Sorely disappointed! Tried on Fender USA Strat and worked fair acroos all strings but not well (see comments on faults). Tried on an acoustic (cheap but in good playing condition) and was awful. Did even not try on Custom Martin. In all cases tested on intonation correct instruments and a steady hand and allowing a few moments for the signal vibration to read true, bounced all over the place, gave false readings in the midst of the bouncing true reading etc.and could not read the lows on the bass. I drive quite a ways to the closest store. I am out gas and time for trip to buy and trip to return. Not happy at all.
