My wife plays cello in our band, and purchased this stand well over a year ago. Her cello rests well on it whenever she's not playing/performing or it's in its case in transport. The stand works wonderfully, and folds up nicely traveling to & from gigs. I recently purchased one for my traditional double gourd sitar. The top neck brace - being metal beneath the padding - easily bent wider to accommodate the sitar's much wider neck. Like the cello stand, this too is proving quite functional for performance as well as studio use. We have now added a third stand for my wife's tamboura - which once it arrives, will also be adjusted to fit the wide tamboura neck. An added bonus is the bow hook also works for hanging our Native American flute bags and other small instruments.
This is a very sturdy, heavy-duty stand for my wife's cello. Nicely adjustable. Well made
When it is new, it fits the bass well, it is easy to use and looks fine. But after about 18 months, the curved lower supports start to give way and you have to bend them up constantly. The metal is too thin and was engineered poorly.
I bought this stand for my 3/4 upright bass. This stand is well built, very stable and darned inexpensive. I've had it for a few weeks, have taken it on gigs, and it's never caused me any concern. It's a vast improvement to laying the bass on its side, and a relief knowing my bass is safe and secure on a rock-solid stand.
This stand is an excellent choice for my cello. It was more on the heavy duty side than I had expected...a definite plus. I feel it's value is worth more than what I paid for it.
Love this bass stand. Sturdy, and well made. Price is also right. Highly recommend.
Sturdy, secure, good looks. Supports an Upright Custom Baby Bass without instability or sign of strain. Bass is almost 50 lbs.
I bought this stand for my cello. I am very pleased with it. The stand is well made and sturdy. The neck of the cello is secured with a sort of gate that makes it very easy to remove and replace the cello in it's stand. One of the features that I particularly like is that you can put the cello away with the end peg fully extended. If I had to find a fault with the stand, I would like to have seen the bow holder peg placed to the side instead of the back. As it is, when the bow is holder is extended, the bow holder goes straight to the back. If the bow holder were at the side, then the stand could be placed closer to a wall. However, I am well satisfied with the stand. I wouldn't trade for any other I have seen.
