Introduced in 1965, the Fender Electric XII was designed to appeal to the folk-rock market. Featuring a unique headstock and split pickups, it acheived a unique tone and was easy to play. It is rumored that Jimmy Paige used one for the 12-string rhythms on the Zep classic "Stairway to Heaven". The Electric XII was discontinued in 1970.
