Gibson's Les Paul Special was introduced as a variation of the Junior model in 1955. It was basically a two pickup version, with the same P90 pickups. Featuring a blonde/yellow finish instead of the typical sunburst, some were referred to as 'TV' models because they looked better on the black and white televisions of the era.
