Released in 1952, the Fender Bassman was originally designed for bass players. It was soon discovered to be a superb choice for guitarists as well, though. The first version featured a single speaker, but that was changed to a 4x10 configuration in '55. Considered by many to be the holy grail of guitar amplification, the Bassman has stood the test of time and is one of the best sounding, most collectable amplifiers ever produced.
