Often times when piezo pickups are put in a solidbody guitar, it yields very poor performance. The PRS Paul Reed Smith P22 Electric Guitar is the companys first piezo-equipped solidbody guitar and it blows away anything else of its kind on the market! The acoustic tone produced by the redesigned PRSLR Baggs piezo system has to be heard and played to be believed. The PRS P22 comes standard with a figured maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. Uncovered 5708 pickups produce signature Paul Reed Smith tone and are able to be blended with the piezo pickup thanks to two outputs on the P22 guitar. One output is a PiezoMagnetic Pickup mixed signal that allows you to select between all humbuckers, all piezo or a blend of the two. The second output is dedicated to only the piezo signal, giving the PRS P22 guitar huge versatility on the stage and in the studio. Feature Neck Shape Perfected after years of prototyping, the "Pattern" neck is an updated Wide Fat PRS neck style based on Pauls pre-factory design. These necks were found on the instruments built for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese from the late 70s to the mid 80s.
