Fender's shrine to the heritage and legacy of those pioneers who made them what they are today. The Fender Custom Shop reached new heights of craftsmanship with its acclaimed Time Machine seriesartfully relic-ed guitars and basses that revolutionized the entire concept of reissue instruments. The Custom Shop has since ventured even higher by crafting meticulous replicas using the same techniques and tooling used to create the originals all those years ago. At the Custom Shop, the team often dream of instruments that they would want to own and play. The 1959 Esquire is one of those instruments. They've taken this piece of Fender history and added a few features to customize it into one of their favorite Esquires. The two fineshes covers a hand-selected alder body, and the 60s oval C-shaped neck has a dark rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5 radius and taller 6105 frets. Our own special Eldred Esquire wiring puts a lighter load across the entire output of the guitar than a typical Esquire and gives the instrument a half-cocked wah-wah tone in the first switch position. The wiring also includes a Greasebucket tone control that rolls off highs without reducing gain.
