this is a BEAUTIFUL guitar. looks amazing and plays like it too. the ibanez CAP active pickups are definitely the best IBZ PUPS ive heard. they have intense highs and solid mids. the lows and about a 6.5 or 7 . you can hear everything about the guitar in high gain I.E. the bridge and strings ring out and are really clear due to active pups. which i would not switch out btw i liked the DEATHBUCKER or EMTY blackouts. EMG sounds confined with this guitar but i realized with the right amp settings. active is active after that its all about harmonics and clarity. DEATHBUCKER now the only problem is the hard tail. the strap knobs placement and body shape make it hard to play in classical position outside of that this is great KNOW YOUR FRETBOARD if your a novice it may be difficult to keep track of where your at without the inlays
I received this guitar as a gift (it was on a wishlist) and i've been blown away by the guitar so far. I've been refraining from drop tuning it far, though i have it a half step down learning some stuff off the new Alice in Chains album. The stock pickups are great, but could be replaced if you're picky about your sound, I'm kicking around some EMG's. I have the "Luna Shadow" model, which i have to say is my favorite finish of all my electrics. The action is very low, and it plays like butter. Minimal effort whether you're shredding or riffing. The bridge is easy to mute on, and the tuners hold up very well over time. The only problem I've found so far was finding a case. I finally found one to fit and it's been on two months back-order, and cost me another 120$. As a traveling musician I need a nice hard case, but others may not. This guitar is a great value and I highly recommend it, along with most other Ibanez products.
i recently got it because i love escape the fate and their guitar player uses this exact guitar, i tried it and its awesome, there?s no comparasion on quality it seems you could murder someone with this and the guitar would still be solid as steel, they say its bad quality because its made in china but, its much better than all guitars i have ever played incluiding Gibson, the only one i think is better is the Schecter Blackjack SLS, its epic for metal, but its still awesome with any other genres, i have a spider IV 15watts and can make my guitar sounds exactly as any other artist just like that.
