Been playing guitar since 1977 and most of that period was spent playing acoustics. I've had my fair share of guitars through the years. I had an Ibanez Concord with mother of pearl in-lay in 1982 that I loved. Recently, I found myself in dire need of a decent, cheap acoustic since I'm low on funds and this economy isn't helping. So my daughters and grandson bought me a Guitar Center Gift card and I thought I would try the blue V70CE. Got it 4 days later in a box within a box. Guitar was in great shape and looks beautiful. I tuned it up and it tunes nice. Got to playing it right away and was extremely happy. Two small qualms. One is the action is a hair high, which is a little tough coming from a strat to a heavier stringed acoustic, but I've already adjusted and I'm not noticing too much of a problem any more. The 2nd thing is the strap buttons are a little too low profile which makes it hard to get beefier straps to go on all the way. But, I'm going to either buy taller ones or find a thin strap that will work. No biggie for me. So, the real skinny is, I love the sound both acoustically and electronically. It has a real nice deep tone that my Brother's $600.00 Takamine doesn't have. The structural integrity of the guitar seems solid, thus the deeper tones. I'm impressed by this non-pricey Ibanez. I don't know about some of the reviews I've read about string buzz and dead sound. But those are always classic cases of any acoustic that has old strings or has been abused in some way. I am a big believer in keeping an instrument in a hardshell case, out of harms way, like say, someone cleaning a room and knocking it over thus cracking the neck. I've actually knocked an old Hohner over and cracked the neck myself. I've also pounded and banged on guitars playing them too hard until the intonation, action and acoustics were beat, and I finally figured out how to take care of them. So, let's not be too hasty in blaming the manufacturer or the store for something that we may have done to our own instrument. Just sayin'! I Love Mine!!!!

If your looking for your first acoustic, this is good for the money. The action/playablitiy is tough but good for finger muscles. It is not a fast guitar. Suited best for some hard strumming basic chord songs. If you want to play the blues, pass on this one and spend the extra money on something faster.

AMAZING VALUE

By musiclover69

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar because of all the positive reviews. When I started to play it I could immediately see why. The action and sound is just as good if not better than some $500 guitars that I've played. The strings start to vibrate when you play very hard but other than that this is the best acoustic guitar i've ever owned and I would recommend it to any intermediate player.

Great For Beginners

By beginnersluck

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased the Ibanez V70CEBK and I absolutely love this guitar. I showed it to a friend who has been playing for ten years and he was envious. I just started to play and i tried two guitars before finding this treasure. The playability of this guitar is excellent for its price range as is the rest of the features (mahogany back and sides, rosewood fretboard and bridge). The black gloss finish just adds the look of dominance to the guitar.

Ibanez V Series V70E

By V Flyer

from Pleasant Hill, Ca.

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I actually traded a higher priced well known guitar in for this guitar because the sound and playability were superior. The action was great right out of the box. If you can get passed the fact that this guitar was built in China and let it stand on its own merits the beginner and intermediate musician should be very pleased. It is not a real fast instrument but works well for me.For the money you will be hardpressed to beat it.I highly recommend it.I have the black one...It's beautiful.

Awesome

By Felix

from Visalia, Ca

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about 2 1/2 years...and I have to say, it has served me well. Every time I let my friends play it, they fall in love with it. They always tell me how easy it is to play and how nice it sounds. I've only played several acoustics in which have the same ease of playability... but they were a bit pricey. I definitely prefer this guitar over a Gibson acoustic... and some Taylors. This is a great guitar for any player, whether they're beginners, intermediate, or professionals!

Awsome Guitar

By Ken

from Maine

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar a while back and find it forfills my expectations. I wanted a laminate top acoustic electric. Living in Maine it gets extremly dry and while you can humidify I wanted a guitar not to worry about constantly. I have played for many years and am extremly impressed with the sound both amplified and acoustic.. As usual the playability is awsome ( Ibanez ) and appointments well done. I have only one complaint that the ends of the frets are very sharp and rough as you slide up and down the fretboard.Other than that I'm very pleased and impressed with the guitar and best of all enjoy it very much..

Ibanez V70CE

By Erik Courter

from Macomb, MI

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar in the Transparent Red Sunburst. It looks amazing! The deep red and black body has an off white trim on the sides. It has a deep, rich tone that I didn't expect to hear from this guitar. It's also an acoustic-electric which means you can plug it into your amp for a little extra volume or if you want to add some effects. I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing that I was surprised about was that there are only 20 playable frets, not 22, but it's not like I play that high so it's not really a problem for me. Overall, it's a great value and I would recommend it for a guitar hobbyist like myself.

GREAT guitar for the money

By Liz

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Was not even in the market for an acoustic, but after hearing this cheap ($190) guitar - especially plugged in - it was a no-brainer... totally blown away with the sound and playability for the money compared to much more expensive guitars... pick one up for a good beginning guitar or for a quality instrument for the professional to have on hand for use on a gig... it does the job well and is a pleasure to play...

Great Guitar

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play in a christian rock band at my church, and i just recently bought this guitar for that since it has the plug in option. This guitar is excellent for the price. I have found it to be wonderful for chords and arpeggios but ok for note playing and power chords. It is great for any chords and arepeggios you will be playing.

Great Guitar

By Don Gelwic

from Dewey, OK

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is an awesome guitar. I had my kids with me when I was shopping, so I didn't get to give it a real tryout in the store. What I did see in the store was enough to make the purchase. Once I got it home, I found out that I can actually play bar and power chords on this guitar and make them sound good. Something I have only been able to do on an electric before. Has a sweet, mellow tone and very comfortable to play. This guitar has definitely been a blessing for playing on Sunday Mornings at Church

Ok

By Carlos

from Oceanside, CA

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar around April... It's October now and some of the frets are already dead. It was a great guitar when I first bought it but now its getting to the point where I can't strum a chord without buzzing. Amazing guitar if you use it as your first or as a practice but not so good for actual live performances.

Great Guitar, Especially for the Price :)

By Daniel

from San Leandro, CA

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Well, I've had this guitar for about... 2 or 2 and a half years. It's been great, I've never had to change any parts (except for the strings) and it's real sturdy. The action is a bit simple but it still sounds nice and clean when plugged into an amp or AP system. I would recommend it to beginners as a learning guitar that you can rely on or to intermediate players that are just looking for a nice practice guitar. The black looks amazing but after awhile, you'll start getting pick scratches from playing a lot. But that's fine, it happens to everyone's guitars after they play for a bit. Sooo.... i would highly recommend this guitar, it's great for the price. :)

I LOVE THIS GUITAR

By Jennifer

from Spokane, WA

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The sound is great, the guitar is great. I loved the look of the transparent blue, although once I actually opened the box it looked more blue/green to me, not just blue. Which to me was even better. I have played this thing every day since I opened the box, and I could not be happier. I also saw this guitar sold used in music shops and pawn shops for way more than I paid from the website, so it's a steal at this price for what you get. Everyone comments on this guitar when I pull it out. Love it!

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I saw this guitar on here and was impressed by the reviews from what others had to say. So I bought this as a gift to myself for christmas which came 2 days before the holidays! [Quick shipping!] and EVERYTHING that people have written before me is true! It has a nice finish from the neck, to the frets, and overall the whole guitar. It is the best in my humble opinion for the price listed...thank you once again for coming through on your products guitar center! & I would recommend this guitar!

Ibanez V70CE

By old timer

from southold, ny

Comments about Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Stopped at the local GC on Saturday April 3. First visit. Fondled about 2 dozen guitars, including some $$$ Martins. Tried this Ibanez and it fit like a glove. BEAT OUT THE MARTIN!! Great action, no buzz, even on the bar chords, feather touch, no tension. Just then the salesman walked in, said he had one left in stock. When Karma knocks you grab for it. Bought a small Fender amp on the way out the door. Great combo. Even unplugged the sound is loud and clear. If your looking for a great campfire guitar, this is it. Outplays my vintage Ovation Legend with the 24 carot gold tuning machines. Buy it, you will not be disappointed, garunteed!!
