My daughter has been taking lessons and playing about a year, and I thought she was ready to move up from her First Act child-sized to a REAL acoustic, and THIS is it! She is very happy with the sound, likes the action, and is also finding it easy to get her hand around the neck to get her fingers on the strings. This is a GREAT guitar for a beginner! Guitar Center also packaged it very well, so it was in perfect shape after shipping. Did I mention this was a re-conditioned model? Couldn't tell --- looked and sounded like new.
I was looking for a Gibson SJ 200 and this guitar got my attention and I started to play it and it was really good. Nothing wrong with this guitar at all. I love the on board tuner because while i am on stage i can tune it down half a step for any of my songs. It has the best sound that i could find that day. And I wanted a guitar that i could have for ever and i found this for a low price and i like it because it wouldn't bother me a lot if i hit it on the couch or on one of my microphones. I can live with the fact that you can't plug it into a amp or anything but it doesn't really matter because something sounding this good can't be passed up.
I am sort of a beginner- I've practiced a bit on an electric guitar but I didn't have an amp for it, so it basically wasn't very good. I decided to turn to acoustic-and I'm glad I did! I love the sound of acoustic guitars much more than an electric guitar...especially this specific acoustic guitar! The sound is beautiful along with the finishing and everything. It even has a built in tuner which can be useful. (I already have a Snark tuner though, so not useful to me :P) I was surprised when I first played it, it was almost too good to be true! And for a good price, too. If you are planning on buying an acoustic guitar, i highly suggest this one! It's great for beginners and just has a lovely sound.
I bought this guitar 9 days ago. I'm a newbie. I never thought I would love a guitar so much. So easy to learn on and the sound is wonderful. I had to limit my time at first so my fingers wouldn't get too sore. And it was so hard to put it down. Now that my fingers have toughened a bit, it is indeed hard to put down. If you are learning to play like me, this is a great guitar. And I can imagine it will be a great one for practice if you are a seasoned musician. I just love it. I just don't want to put it down. Thanks go to Ibanez for making such a quality guitar for us beginners.
This is my first guitar however I tried several before i bought this one. some were much more expensive but this one just stood out. i have been playing it for a few months now and i love it. Everyone else that picks it up really enjoy the feel and the sound as well. id recommend it to beginners or some one looking to save some money without losing to much quality.
I bought this guitar about a year ago, and I absolutely love it. It has a very nice and warm sound, and the neck is a little less thick than other guitars I have played. The only problem I have with this guitar is that it is very sensitive to humidity. If the area you keep it in is a little dry the lower frets will not work, but that is very easily fixed. If you keep this guitar in the right humidity level it will play great. This was my first guitar and it is still my favorite of the four guitars I own. I highly recommend this guitar.
I had a small budget for buying the guitar. I am just a beginner, but I can say that this is a really nice guitar. I love playing it!! It has a rich sound and the on-board tuner is a big help too..
This guitar is great! it was my first guitar and it has great sound. my only suggestion is that the onboard tuner doesnt work very well...other than that, its an all around great guitar for beginners or expierienced players!
I bought this guitar 3 days ago and I could not be happier. First of all, it sounds very nice for its price, enough to lure me away from buying a $500 guitar. Once I took her home I traded out the stock "yellow" strings and put on some light phosphor-bronze ones the sound improved dramatically. It has a rich, balanced tone. It both looks and sounds like a more expensive guitar! It has decent action considering its price and is very playable. Iۡll just be using this for practice, but I could probably pass this off at a gig or two. Again, considering the price, it is really a beautiful guitar. Rosewood sometimes has streaks of red running through the dark parts of the wood. Well, I was lucky enough to get one of those streaks running through the bridge and it really looks nice against the black of the guitar. Oh, and another thing, the abalone rosette has to be appreciated up close(another nice contrast against the black paint. The pictures don't do it justice. I was also surprised how well they applied the paint and the paint and clear coat. It was smooth and even, great finish. Another nice accent was the ivory-colored binding and nut. The pick-guard, though, was somewhat plain. It would be nice to see a design on it. The on-board tuner was also a nice addition, especially for someone like me who needs one. No more ۡforgettingۡ my tuner when I take my guitar out with me. I know I might seem a little over the top with this review, but when I get a good deal I canۡt help but brag about it. The compliments Iۡm getting about the guitar really sealed the deal. This is an exceptional value.
I got this guitar for Christmas this year and it plays beautifully, deep rich tones and the onboard tuner is a plus for on the go guitarists,I tune to Drop D and sometimes lower but If your going to tune lower get heavier or thicker strings that have better tension when dropped to lower tunings like Drop C or lower. The Ibanez V200S is a great buy and really suggest you buy this guitar.
