Great quality and great price

By shawn thompson

from Buffalo NY

I bought this for my daughter who is a budding musician. However, it was not a "toy" and didn't even seem like an entry level uke. I've owned numerous expensive and vintage guitars and have an appreciation for instrument quality. For the price, this is an outstanding deal. The sound quality is good. The tuners are smooth and precise. The structure feels robust and solid. The playability is very good with good action and easy play. The acoustics are very good, especially for an affordable instrument. Its very responsive and clear, sounding like a much more expensive instrument. The "fit and finish" are all very high quality. The only one thing I would note is the finish itself: WHile I actually prefer the fast, soft feel of a satin finish (over a hard sticky high gloss) this on'e satin finish felt just a tiny bit rough. Not objectionable, but I would have preferred it to be just a little bit smoother. Understand this is not a criticism or complaint. I sitll think its a 5-star. But if I had to stretch and find any improvement to suggest it would be the satin finish needs one more light buffing pass.

Basic Uke...Low Price

By Douglas Stevens

from Asheville, NC

This was the first ukulele I have ever owned. Since then and about two years later I have several other higher end solid body ukes. I am no expert, but I have been playing music for about 10 years and ukulele for about 2 now. When I first got this ukulele it took about two weeks for it to hold tune. There was never a lot of sound and the music never carried. I changed the strings to Aquila and it made a huge difference. The ukulele plays much better and the sound is much louder. So if you are on a low budget I would buy this ukulele, but you are going to want a nicer one in several months.

Wonderful Ukulele!

By kenia

from anaheim, ca

For the person that said it wouldn't stay in tune: when you first get the ukulele, it obviously has the be 'broken into.' Just like a guitar, or any ukulele, it doesn't sound or feel that great the first two or three days, but once you really start playing it, the chords sound greeeatt. I love this ukulele, I've had it for like a year now. It's small, cute, great quality: IBANEZ. ;D This is a great ukulele, at a great price.

Great beginners Uke

By Peter Wang

from Priceton Illinois

i love this thing! ever since i got it i wouldnt put it down. it has great tone to it, it sounds like what u imagine it to sound, very islander sounding, its construction is pretty good, it doesnt matter if its made in china its still a great uke. the tuners in the back are openback and i think that looks really nice on this uke. Ibenez might be known for their guitars but heck their ukes live up to the name also.

More than I paid for

By Jasmine

from California

I ordered this uke and it arrived on the first of February and haven't been able to put it down since! I was new to the uke and wanted to get one that was affordable. I asked my friend's advice on which to get and when she saw that Ibanez had come out with a uke she said I had to get that one. At first you have to tune it a few times a day but after a week of playing it you rarely ever have to tune it. I've played it everywhere, including in my church's worship band and the very first thing my friend said running her hand over the strings was "I can hear Hawaii!" I would highly recommend this to any beginner.

You get what you pay for.

By Samantha

from Hebron, KY

I decided to try this uke out. I've never played one before, and I wanted to see what I could do with it, without spending a ton of money. It looks like you really do get what you pay for, because it would not stay in tune long enough to tune the next string... I returned it, and I wouldn't recommend buying this. I'll have to go with a concert size and spend more money I guess.
