I chose the Ibanez DE7 over more known delays like the Boss DD-3 and Boss DD-6. The feature that caught my eye was that it can act as a delay OR echo. The echo is also analog I believe. This pedal also does not take away from your tone like alot of pedals do. It's also built like a tank and very simple to program. Run it into the loop of your amp for best results. I use it with a Marshall DSL100 and it gives me great, warm delays.
I bought this pedal about 4 years ago. Mainly, because it was cheap and I wanted something to have fun with. Upon recieving it, I enjoyed it. Its a simple pedal, not alot of huff and it sounds great. It does exactly what it needs to do without any "features" that some other pedals have that are not practical. I have since had a Line 6 echo park pedal and a Boss dd-6, both which cost alot more than this pedal, and ive always found myself going back to the Ibanez de-7. Amazing pedal, very versatile, and im guaranteed this thing will last forever. My favorite, no nonsense delay pedal.
What attracted me most to buy the Ibanez DE7 was the long list of possibilities it offers. Learning how to use them all and getting exactly what you want may take some time but you will not be dissapointed. Simple echos can be easily achieved as well as multitap delays. The coolest feature on this pedal is the infinite delay. The infinite delay can me manually controlled to create a weird but cool space-like sound. The pedal itself isn't too heavy duty but it's sturdy. Battery life lasts a reasonable amount as well (a power supply on all floor effects is always recomended). Easily one of the top delay/echo effects on the market. Visit www.ibanez.com for audio samples of the DE7 and more.
This pedal is a good pedal for those wanting delay at a decent price. I have had mine over ten years and it still works. Enough said.
Probably the best sounding analog delay model available. I sold my much more expensive analog delay and replaced it with this. The self-oscillation is great. Pedal works wonders for many styles, especially noise stuff where the feedback really comes in handy and can be found really cheap.
I've used this pedal for well over a year now, and have tried many different delays along the way, and it's still on my board. The quality of the delay and echo functions are excellent. This isn't analog delay, but it's got a clean, crisp tone. Built solid and covers a wide range of delay and echo times. Quality for a great price!
This pedal works just as good as the Boss DD-3. My friend and I compared the two, and there was very little difference. You can save yourself some money. This pedal lets you use delay or echo, and set different delay/echo times. The knobs push in, so you never have to worry about them getting knocked off. Turn the repeat all the way up, and then mess with the time knob, you can make some incredible feedback noises. Over all, I am very pleased with this pedal.
I've owned several delay pedals over the years and this is by far the best. It sounds much better than the boss (dd3-dd6) series, It's also easier to use. The only thing that would make this cooler is an expression pedal out.
This little pedal is a wonder! It seems to be built okay, and it sounds great! There are two settings: echo and delay. The echo setting gives you an emulation of an analog delay(better than the dl4's emulation), that goes crazy and oscillates when the repeat knob is past 2 o' clock. While this is a great feature, it is also a major short coming, just because its hard to dial in more repeats without getting madness. The delay setting is more of the traditional digital delay sound. It has clean sterile repeats, and doesn't go crazy or anything, works like it should. The pedal definetly has two pros though, the price, and those little knobs that you can push in, so your settings arent messed up! Really cool!
i recieved this pedal for christmas to help duplicate some of brian may's delay skills. I soon found out that you could do that and way more.it will alow you to play two guitar parts at once.i use mainly ibanez pedals because of their quality and this is the key to my hole rig.
Great pedal to create that vintage echo sound we all love in Rockabilly music! The sound you get for the price can't be beat. The construction appears sturdy and the knobs are capable of being pushed to a flush position so you can't kick them with your foot. One gripe: it eats up batteries! Highly recommend the AC adaptor, since my unit consumes a fresh 9V battery for a good hour of continuous playing. Other than that, a great deal for the money! Get it, you won't be disappointed!
i love this pedal. it sounds the same as the boss version. i love messing with the knobs and getting a crazy feedback sound. and so dont forget your settings the knobs retract in the pedal i give the de7 A+++
This a great pedal. The delay sounds clean and the echo feature is great. You can make some amazing, spacey, far out sounds with it and also get an endless loop of feedback going. It is sturdy and the tonelok knobs seem like a good idea. As cheap as this pedal is, you may make up the difference in buying batteries for it. This pedal eats up batteries. It'll easily go through one in the matter of hours. I highly recommend an A/C adapter with it. Otherwise, great pedal.
This unit is the best bang for your buck that I have ever purchased in my 47 years of playing guitar. I played through an Echoplex for many years and this little dynamite unit can do anything that Echoplex did plus a whole lot more! It outperforms units costing 2 and 3 times as much. I definitely give it a 5 star rating!
I got this pedal as a second echo to put in the front of my board (I run a line6 echo park at the end). The DE7 is awesome for creating rock solid echos that can be turned to infinite repeat and modulate into oblivion. I mostly use it for crazy chaotic noise stuff, and also occasionally for a dredg-ish like effect. I love cranking the repeat and level so the echo gets louder as it echos. Great for building and for weird effects in songs. The one thing they could do to improve it though is to add a tap tempo. If your looking for one echo to rely on I'd maybe look for something with a tap tempo, but that can run the price up too. Great pedal for the money, and a blast to manipulate in real time.
I think this is a great pedal. And first off, there is nothing I don't like about this pedal, especially for the price. What I like/love: the echo and delay mode; the choice gives you alot of options, especially to fill up your sound. I really like to use a kind of 50's slapback on rythm. The only thing I wish it had was a tap tempo, but for this price, what else could you ask for? If faced with a Boss dd-3 I think I would choose this pedal soley because it is almost the same pedal cheaper. If you have the money, I would go with the dd-7. As far as reliability goes, I don't doubt this pedal. So this pedal will do everything you need it to, for pretty cheap too.
