just put mine on lay away today after jamming out on it for an hour through an orange or15. The factory action was too high for my taste, and may require the work of a luthier to lower the entire bridge itself. that being said, this guitar is still great. the clean tones are unbelievable, the neck is thin and more playable than any other 8 string i've played. The overall weight of the guitar isn't too heavy either. The quest for proper string tension will require you to custom make your own custom string set as most packs don't offer the correct combinations of string gauges for this. The high frets are all accessible, even up to the 24th fret. The fretboard is fast. The craftsmanship overall is solid for not being made in America, Britain or Japan, but my 6 string ibanez prestige certainly has superior craftsmanship, down to the hand filed frets. prestiges are definitely a step up in craftsmanship. This is a thing to consider if you're looking at the same priced 8 string prestige for 1300. This guitar however has way more tonal options, and I also may just have a hard on for Animals as Leaders, so perhaps I'm biased. Besides having slightly too high actions and unbalanced string tension or floppy low strings basically, one other personal preference i would like this guitar to have bigger block inlays like the more expensive tam 100. I like to have clear visible life lines when playing live, that's just my preference. The 27 inch neck is slightly longer, but not like playing a bass. It's like switching from a violin to a viola. There is such an awesome tonal range with the coil taps, and the ionizers really blew me away with their clarity. I haven't gotten to play the 8 string iron label, which was what i was considering along with the 8 string prestige which i did play. I liked the tam 10 over the prestige, the prestige needed a similar setup adjustment. If i can get the action and string tension to my liking this is a 5 star guitar for the price. comes with a case too!
