Overview

The Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS acoustic-electric features a beautiful sunburst finish, pearloid block inlay on the fretboard, combined with a large, classic pickguard, giving the SGE220VS an understated vintage styling. In appearance, sound and playability, the SGE220VS sets a new benchmark in entry-level guitars.

Ivorex II nut allows brilliant highs and more pronounced lows with less mid-range which makes Ivorex II-fitted guitars perfect for amplification. The Ivorex II saddles are specially formulated to provide ultra-fast response and maximum sound transfer to the body. The Ibanez AEQ200MT preamp features a 2-band tone control and an onboard tuner, while the AP3 magnetic pickup produces a fuller, warmer sound. Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ok, first of all I'm not a huge fan of dreadnoughts. The Fingerboard radius feels extreme to me on this guitar. Neck is not a baseball bat, however well rounded, though very comfortable. The body is large.(con to me) Yet more comfortable than most. But the sound is Amazing!!! Twice as loud and bright as anything sitting on the rack. I've played $1200 dollar guitars, including ovations that don't sound this good. Can't say anything about the pickup and electronics (haven't tried yet), but this is definitely something to check out in this price range! The color scheme (tabacco) reminds me of those $20 guitars they sell at the mexician border. If your looking at $200 bucks for an acoustic, TRY THIS ONE!!!

    What a GREAT guitar!

Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is no beginner guitar! Quality and sound are excellent. I would have preferred a different finish rather than the Redburst but that's only cosmetic. The way this guitar plays and sounds is what blew me away. Sonically it's very balanced through the whole spectrum and it's plenty loud. The feel of the neck is perfect for me and the action was just right. I walked in GC to buy an electric but statred playing this guitar and ended up walking out with it. I kept saying to myself that I must have been lucky and just got a jewel, but I see others are also singing the praises of this guitar.

    Surprised & Pleased

Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I spent well over a month looking for an electric-acoustic guitar on the low end to the price spectrum. Because I was getting back to guitar (I am a banjo player) the guitar manager at the Orange CT store suggested this Ibanez because of its playability and overall tone. Man... was I surprised with the sound. If you are looking for quality and great sound, consider this Ibanez Sage

Best guitar in this price range PERIOD.

Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

5 Stars all the way. This thing has a great neck, very nicely finished frets and sounds very balanced and present. The volume and presence when plugged in is terrific. I have played professionally for 30 years. I take two acoustics with me on the road: A Martin Smartwood acoustic with onboard Fishman system and this Ibanez SGE 220VS. That's the only two I play out with. I have no negatives to say about this axe. I did see where in one review it is stated that it is heavy. It weighs a little more due to the electronics // pickup - but it's still lighter than my Martin. It is sturdy. Take care of it and in 30 years it'll be going strong. $249? It's a no brainer. A+++

Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220VS Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is the best. Theres no other word to describe the guitar. The picture doesn't do this guitar justice. The sound is amazing crisp and clean. Its a little heavy but thats ok a lot of acoustic electric guitars are heavy. The sun burst is amazing. Overall great guitar I'd recommend anybody to buy it. I would give it 12 stars if I could.
