The Sage Series SGE220 dreadnought acoustic guitar is a brilliant guitar for those just starting out. The dreadnought body of the SGE220 offers a full sound, strong bass and clarity. Mahogany back and sides with a spruce top gives the SGE220 a clear, woody tone with high velocity.
The electronics on the SGE220 ensure that you’ll sound great plugged in as well. The AP3 magnetic pickup produces a fuller, warmer sound. The AEQ200MT preamp has 2-band tone control and an onboard tuner.
The SGE220 is fitted with the Ivorex II nut, which is stronger and more durable than bone and even harder than the original Ivorex. Ivorex II allows brilliant highs and more pronounced lows with less mid-range, making it perfect for amplification. The Ivorex II saddle is specially formulated to provide ultra-fast response and maximum sound transfer to the body.
Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Sage Series SGE220 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Excellent quality for the price. PRO's: Sturdy. Sound great plugged in. Excellent fret job. NOT a solid top. Why is that a plus you may ask? It is sturdier and won't cave in over time. Guitars in this price range that offer solid tops will cave in after 4 or 5 years. Great tuning keys. Cons: Not quite loud enough acoustically when not plugged in - HOWEVER - very nicely balanced and crisp. Over all - if you are looking for a great acoustic electric under $400 that will last a long time - this is it. This guitar goes with me a as a backup to my Martin D 15.
